Sounds easy enough but I remember him being a pain in the ass that gives Rayman a pretty hard time
Well, its powerful weapons don't help.

The most annoying things are the flying bullets ( how do you call them ? ) It's really a pain to hit those, when you face them they sometimes go in the other direction.

Tip: When you come across one of those Pirates, hit it once. Then it will fire a missile directly so strafe to the left. Then the pirate will fire a missile it's left and you don't have to dodge it at all because you just moved to the left. Then the pirate will fire a missile to it's right so strafe to the right and hit the pirate again. Repeat the process until the pirate has been defeated. If you don't hit the Pirate at all, it will fire a missile to it's left, right and directly. Everytime you hit it it will fire directly, left and right. These pirates are acually quite easy once you get the hang of it.

What's with the shitty sound quality in the DS version? One of my favourite songs from the main versions is the Cave of Bad Dreams but in the DS port it's just a 10 second loop, irritating as hell.
The controls are really sloppy also.

The DS version is a port of the N64 version so the sound is the same as the N64 version. The speakers of the DS aren't good for console music too.

Obviously not...

I think they actually used the PS1 version of The Sanctuary Of Stone of Fire Part 3 music for the 5th part of The Sanctuary Of Stone and Fire in the DS version.

The shell ride after giving Clark the Elixir of Life in Menhir Hills is a friggin nightmare on DS! At the bridge when you have to dodge those menhirs it's, like, impossible to get past.

Yeah, I experienced that, too. I managed it only on the DS after around 50 tries.

I'd like to get the PS1 version some day. How big is the level in the Rayman 2D demo? I remember seeing a video of it but it went in slow motion and I thought it lacked the magic of Rayman 1 just by looking at it.

Unlike in R1, it's not built up from different level parts. Instead, you walk around in this huge area, where you have to go from left to right, teleport to the background and then go from right to left. It sounds simple, but it's a real challenge. You will meet different types of enemies and traps on your path, including robot dinosaurs, limbless robot hunters, mines, giants rolling things. You will also have to use new powers and new gadgets to get to the end.

But it uses CDDA music like R1, which is why it's unlikely you'll find an ISO that has the track.

The background music is the time race music, only a little different. I have it on my first R2 PS1 disc.

The only way to rip PS1 ISOs and keep CDDA sound is to use CloneCD.

Or just take it from a copy of the CD, like i did.

It wasn't on this computer, though.

A random music file on my disc, that works with Windows Media Player.
