Oh that I already noticed too. It's a difference of less than 1 second by the way.bunnieblaster wrote:I've noticed a disadvantage with Razorbeard in battle mode. You know all the characters do some sort of dance at the beginning of the battle with the countdown? Well, razorbeard has one animation where he falls on the ground, and when the game starts, he is uncontrollable for half a second or so! The rest of the characters don't have this.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Yes, but it's a disadvantage anyways. Not that much of a deal, but it's a little careless from the designers.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I agree. The character that I use is Rayman so I don't have any problems in battle mode.bunnieblaster wrote:Not that much of a deal, but it's a little careless from the designers.
Still, I think it is worse playing with Razorbeard with a Single CPU in Very Hard mode in Lum Spring, and for a great bad luck that animation appearing.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Huh, that does sound careless. It was probably a mistake, but it does give other characters a bit of an advantage... doesn't sound like it's by much though. Then again, I haven't actively played as Razorbeard in battle mode so I wouldn't know. I ought to try it sometime to see what you mean...
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I think someone who owns arena should upload it somewhere so we could held a rayman arena competition maybe...
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Yes.
And upload it in winrar parts for download on mediafire or something, not a torrent.
Because torrents take forever to download if there's no seeders.
I always use rayman, but I used tily once and I feel like I roll faster. rayman feels like he's slowing down as he comes out of his roll.
tily feels like she doesn't for some odd reason.
I don't have a favorite character really.
I just pick rayman, henchman 800, or tily.
They feel like they go faster than other characters for some reason.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I'm guessing it's because their animations feel like they're speedier than the others. I dunno though, Razorbeard has a dashing animation too... hm. Teensies feel awkward, but I'm not terribly used to their mechanics with dashing, descending, etc. They're too tall/thin for me after playing as a compact and more solid character like Rayman(or Tily). Just feels awkward for me. XD
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I think that the performance of the player is affected a little by how much he/she likes the character that he/she's using.

This is exactly how I feel if I don't use rayman or tily.ParadoxJuice wrote:I'm surprised you can even notice.Ephriokko wrote:I'm guessing it's because their animations feel like they're speedier than the others. I notice all sorts of little, normally-irrelevant details in things... and then they finally become helpful in discussions like this. =PParadoxJuice wrote:I'm surprised you can even notice.Ephriokko wrote:I'm guessing it's because their animations feel like they're speedier than the others. I also like to pick characters depending on which of their music themes I like the most. XD Hence, Rayman or Teensies for the most part. I like Globox's music too, but I feel kind of uncomfortable controlling a character that 'feels' bigger and not quite as compact. I'm used to judging the controls based on how the character and their animations look on-screen so changing it up can confuse my muscle memory. XD
Re: Rayman M-Arena
It would be kind of cool if someone could hack the models and make their own characters.
Dolphin does have the power to export/import models from gamecube games doesn't it?
It would be cool to see someone playing as a baby globox or ly. just sayin.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Someone probably could if they really wanted to.
Although I see them having more fun putting in completely random non-Rayman characters or their own FCs/OCs more than other things... <_>;; You never know though, some are actually devoted fans that WOULD do other characters from the series like Ly, Baby Globox, maybe even newer characters like Razoff, a Knaaren, a Hoodmonger, etc... lmao.

I wish Dark Globox and Dark Rayman were in Rayman M.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Oh. What I meant is that they are on the Gamecube/Xbox versions of the game, which are Rayman Arena - more than a name change because they could not port the original game directly straight away 'cause of hardware differences and stuff. So yeah, it is in Arena. I tend to think of them all as the same general game even though they're different... heh. XDGuywho'saguy wrote:Really? I thought that they were only in Arena. Re: Rayman M-Arena
To clarify, the ps2 and PC versions of arena (US) are rayman M (EU).
The gamecube and xbox ports of rayman arena (US ONLY) are a completely redone version of M/Arena for ps2/PC
