I think you have not completed a music level, until you managed to do it in one go, so I'm actually happy the 8-bit levels force you to. They are really not so hard after you get the hang of them.

You're right about that actually, it just takes practice and memory from the regular music levels. I'm assuming that you can do every music level in 1 go? I hope I can be like that someday, I'd like to get through all the regular music levels someday hearing the whole song instead of screwing up and having to start from a certain point.

Well, I did beat all the 8-bit levels, and they are the same as the regular music levels except screwing up with your vision in one way or another... So if I can do these in one go, I can also do the originals.

Yeah, completing them in one go is the best way, why screw up the rhythm.

But yeah, i'm definitely finding the game fun so thx.

I always smile when doing those music stages, EVEN when I screw up.
I think I said before that you can hear the sound of instruments just being dropped or thrown out without care whenever you screw up in those stages and all I do is just laugh.
I do still struggle in a few 8 bit version of the music levels but it is only because I can't for the life of me, time the jumping correctly. I don't think it is because of the distracting screen filters. There is usually that ONE part of those levels where you get screwed by the game and not any where else in it. As long as I could get past that, I can beat it in one go(and I always have).

I freaking adore those music levels, they're especially good and fun! And I love the 8-bit ones as well, only most of them though as you gotta admit, Orchestral Chaos 8-bit edition is just hell and took way longer for me to complete than it should've. Even now, after having completed it, I still don't consider going back to it ever again.

I personally wouldn't mind doing the 8-bit levels again along with the regular music levels, they were challenging but finishing them all gave me lots of excitement.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I finally finished the Back to Origins paintings and consequently the entire game a month ago! It was a lot of fun tbh, and even though I still have things that need to be unlocked, I'm considering deleting my save file and playing again in the future anyways since it was enjoyable and I don't think I'll lose much from deleting it anyways.

There's no need to delete the save; you can replay any level at any time, and nothing will change inside it. Sure, you won't get the experience of unlocking something that's already unlocked, but the gameplay is 100% identical (not like, Rayman 1 or Rayman 2 where cages/bosses don't reappear).

You can't redo the intro cinematic though.

I guess you need to see Rayman get slapped by Murfy and fall out of a tree.

I was thinking more of seeing the five Aleses coming out of Polokus's hookah.

I'm guessing it's because it's a remix of the music from the first level in Rayman Legends.

I love the music levels in this game to be honest. I still remember the fist time I played it, then on Castle Of Rock as soon as the Lividstones popped their heads up and shouted "BAM BA LAM", I realised the song was Black Betty and immediately thought the game was amazing.
The way they have it worked out to stay in rhythm with the gameplay is another thing I thought was cool, then of course as R4Y said, it's funny how messing up makes it sound as if everyone just dropped their instruments on the floor.

I totally agree 100% on the things you said. I freakin' adore Castle Rock, the non 8-bit version has to be my favorite music level and level in Rayman Legends as a whole and I love the "BAM BA LAM" part, it's my favorite part in the whole level. And the messing up sound too, love that as well.
Actually, I stopped playing Rayman Legends after getting to the 10th level of awesomeness (for an obvious reason) because reaching that last level of awesomeness is definitely not worth it in my opinion for all that grinding as grinding in video games is definitely not my cup of tea. But now that you said Castle Rock Imma replay that level just for the fun of it.

Yeah I'd honestly just replay the game for fun, I never actually played the PC version yet despite owning it for a long time. I've completed it on a few other platforms though and enjoyed the game each time.

Thanks to Droolie and Got4n we are now able to view the unused Catch 'em All maps found in the PS Vita version! Although they do not have any textures here, it's still interesting to see how this would have been intended to appear.

This is a really nice find, well done to you guys! This game mode looks like it would be really fun to play!
The creatures collected in the game imo look a little similar to the ones in that collection room.
