Both dark globox and dark rayman, Dark rayman is a skin.

Saw this on the other Rayman Wiki (not ours) is it true or bullshit?
In Rayman Arena he acts as a newsfrog and goes into the characters' training rooms with a camera, revealing the basic summary of the pending competition. However, for doing this, someone in the training room will dash to the door and shut it before Murfy can leave, and we can hear from outside the door Murfy being beaten to death, screaming not to rip out his wings or his eyes. Before the clip is over, we can see R.I.P. at the bottom of the screen. He is referred to as J.M. Murphy. However, this could perhaps not be Murfy, but another Greenbottle with a similar same, seen as he gets killed, and Murfy survives until hoodlum havoc.

Yeah, but there are some differences between Rayman M and Rayman Arena (talking about the PS2 version of both). For example, in Rayman M there aren't the freeze bullets, and some parts in the races are harder than Rayman Arena...(this point isn't notable at all XD)

From what I know, only the Xbox and Gamecube versions of "Rayman Arena" contain the Murphy cutscenes; I believe that when the game was first released, it wasn't compatible with Xbox or Gamecube because the systems were different. The game had to be reworked to work on those systems, so they spiced it up a bit while porting it.

...Buuuut my memory's pretty fuzzy, so don't quote me on that. =P

Can someone list the differences between M/Arena? Because, as far as I know, Arena simply removes features, yet everyone here seems to prefer it.

Are you talking about the PS2 version of both games, or the PS2 version of Rayman M and the XboX/GameCube version of Rayman Arena?

Xbox/Gamecube. The PS2 version is exactly the same, from what I hear.

I've only played 50% of Rayman Arena in the emulator (for glitch reasons, it isn't possible for now to proceed the gameplay), but I can say that the race tracks have some differences in order to the average lap time (shorter or bigger maps), Globox crowd, the floor arrows aren't blue, but yellow; the background elements are different in some places, etc.

No, it isn't.

Here you are some screens to proof that the PS2 version of M and Arena aren't the same.

Major changes:

The Freezing Bullets are an exclusive of Rayman Arena:
Image

In the first level, there is a Tutorial about the Game Controls in Rayman Arena, which isn't present in Rayman M:

Minor changes:

In each level there are many changes to the map. Those changes regard the remotion of obstacles, or simply the switch of their position:

As seen in the previous screen, some protective barriers have been removed, but they have been added in other levels:

All the cheats have been removed:

Some parts of the maps are completely redesigned to make the race easier:

Also the floor arrows have been decreased to make the race easier:

Another change in Rayman Arena are the Jump Buttons. In Rayman M they are always red-yellow, and the black-yellow one is visible only in one secret passageway. In Rayman Arena, red-yellow buttons are used for small jumps, and black-yellow buttons for high jumps:

In conclusion, Rayman Arena is an easier version of Rayman M. Rarely Rayman Arena is more difficult, like in this case:

I hope I've helped you to make the question clearer!

Bye!

Wow that sucks that they took out all the shortcuts. Interesting "subtle" changes though
