Agreed. I'm going to buy Sonic Boom and see for myself, it's the only way I can, well, see for myself, and have people take my/any non-"Sonic Boom is awful" opinion seriously.Keane wrote:Sonic Boom really doesn't look bad. It looks like Epic Mickey without some of the terrible camera and platforming issues. It's glitchy, and that can take away from the experience, but it looks far from bad in terms of gameplay or art direction. The same people stabbing comedy to death with "Sonic 14!!!" probably spend three days going "XBox One?!?! XBox GONE!!!!!!" during E3.

>Doing something as simple as a homing attack is difficult and causes a glitch
Okay, that right there, is not good design. The homing attack has always been A STAPLE in the Sonic series, known for being the most accurate useful thing in Sonic games to use, fucking up something as simple as that isn't a good sign. If they can't get the homing attack to work properly, that's a huge problem already.
This is noteable too
How long we all gonna keep defending it?
Though I will fullheartedly agree it doesn't reach 06 bad there's been a LOT of exploits found within the first day of the game. I'm not going to complain about the art direction since that is subjective, but from what we've been seeing there's an over abundance of glitches.
Anyways, I rented the game simply because I was sick of people commenting on my latest video saying "OMFGGGGG DONT JUDGE BASED ON WHAT OTHERS SAY".
I'm not liking it at all, and theres an over abundance of glitches. My impressions aren't any better then they were before I played it, but I will say the 3DS version at least is okay, too bad it will be overshadowed by the awful Wii U version. I will gladly agree that the reaction is a bit overexaggerated, but I still think at the end of a day it's not a good game. And lastly people really need to stop labeling this game as "THE DEATH OF SONIC", remember that this title isn't even being made by Sonic Team, they have nothing to do with it. I get majority of people think "Oh people just hate it because it's Sonic and a lot of his 3D titles are easy to hate", let me tell you right now, I'm a fan of the recent Sonic games (I even enjoyed Lost World to a point despite the game being critically panned by many), but this seriously is bad, I'm not part of that "ALL 3D SONIC GAMES SUCK" bandwagon, especially since I want 3D Sonic to do well, I think SEGA is being too expiremental with the series, the formula for Generations was downright fucking PERFECT, so what do they do for the next game? Change it completely almost leading to mediocrity. That's the problem I've noticed with many 3D Sonic games, they expirement TOO much, I don't support milking franchises to death but with Sonic it tries new things TOO often. The formula for Generations would be fine for one more game? Maybe re-introduce that gameplay in an adventure format? There are so many things SEGA has yet to touch the surface with.

Where the heck were you since Microsoft reversed there changes? These people barely exist anymore simply because Microsoft is making good decisions with it now and they've got some really good exclusives for it, it's shaping up to be a decent console so far. Hell, I might be interested in one someday simply for Killer Instinct, Master Chief Collection, and Sunset Overdrive.Keane wrote:"XBox One?!?! XBox GONE!!!!!!" during E3.

Actually, the game's development was supervised by Sonic Team.

Shit, then I really hope the next Sonic Title won't be like this. Though I doubt they played a HUGE role in it... r-right?Adsolution wrote:Actually, the game's development was supervised by Sonic Team.

I hope it actually will be in the style of Sonic Boom, just without the problems people have with Boom. My own opinion, of course.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Like I said I can't complain about Boom's style really, but if I do have to say anything I do SEE what it's trying to do, if you look at the E3 build of the game, it actually looked pretty fucking nice, but for some reason they did a drastic downgrade for the final product.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
So, who here has bought the DLC for Mario Kart 8?
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
I pre-ordered it some time ago. I need to try it out when I return from University today.Bradandez wrote:So, who here has bought the DLC for Mario Kart 8?

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
I once mockingly started to call the Xbox One an 'XBone' and have never ceased to, even though I don't have any real judgmental issues towards it. I just find it a better name.
Re: Official Nintendo Topic
Speaking of Mario Kart 8, I love how they included a Blue Spiny Shell Trophy in the limited edition bundle for Europe. They also had it available at Nintendo World for the U.S. but if you don't know anyone in N.Y. or live close by there was no chance in getting it since they don't allow online purchases. Would still like to get the trophy to add to my collection.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
The MK8 DLC can best be described as okay, I'm not sure why the fuck everyone here is hyping it. It's great but nothing outstanding, to be fair though, the price is a really good deal. You not only get a first pack for this month but another upcoming one with it, for a total price of $12. This bundle together comes with 6 new characters (3 so far) and 4 new cups (2 so far). The new cups were okay, I especially loved that F-Zero one, but I really think it's nothing outstanding, it's something that had me back to Mario Kart 8 for like... a few hours. Back to Smash hype, and it comes out in a few days.

Racing on the F-Zero maps only makes me wish I was actually playing F-Zero.

Re: Official Nintendo Topic
I'm honestly predicting a new F-Zero next E3, along with a new Metroid, and of course gameplay for the mysterious new Zelda. There's still a lot to do with the series and think about it: We're getting a Captain Falcon Amiibo:

Imagine what this could be capable of, there's a Link amiibo that will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors and Smash, so I hope a new F-Zero comes out with this capability.
Similar to Captain Toad though I think the MK8 DLC was being pretty overhyped. The DLC is very good value though no doubt, but I was still was left with a meh impression.

Man, just enjoy it. You get Link riding a bike. That's cool.
Smash releases this Friday and it's gonna be awesome. But I'll need to wait another week before I play it. And in the meantime, I will be calculating the cost for extra controllers so that my family and I can enjoy the marvelous Wii U together.

I have been enjoying it, I just think it could have been better.
I'm ridiculously hyped for Smash, first thing i'm gonna do when I obtain it is head online.
