Rayman Pirate-Community

Hm, that's a good question. In the game files he's known as either Rayman_Ubisoft or Rayman_ubi. I can't find any source for UbiRay or Ubi-Ray. Perhaps we should change the wiki to state he was previously unnamed (but keep the redirect as it's commonly searched for)?

Yeah, in the absence of a valid source, this information should be removed. Maybe it came from some official announcement outside the game, though?

Turns out there is actually a name AND description for him in the files! It's just not used for some reason. Droolie and I will look into adding it back into the game. Either way, this is what it is:
Name: Ray Dev team
Description: This true hero helped creating this game! Now it's time for him to play it and have fun!

That does sound familiar…
I don't know, I can't help feeling that there was an official source for UbiRay, but I have no recollection of what it might have been.

And here it is with the correct name + description. I'll update the RCP patch soon to include this as they for some reason left him with the normal Rayman string ID's.
Edit: We finally figured out where "UbiRay" comes from! Apparently it was the name the devs used when they appeared on the leaderboards with that costume. It'd be nice to find a video source so we can verify it.

Tbh I'm not 100% sure it's accurate, which is why I'd like to find some source. But it would make sense that's where the name originated from. I had 3 people tell me they remember seeing it on the leaderboards.

Aren't names supposed to be unique anyway? Strange that several of them could use the same one.

That's what confuses me. It could of course be they used a shared developer account in the office or something, not sure.

I wonder if the game can detect if your name is UbiRay, and automatically replace the Rayman character with Ray Dev Team? That might explain everything…

That's unlikely. There are several debug features left in the game, such as the training room. There was probably a flag to enable them, or if it checks your Uplay ID. Also, UbiRay wouldn't replace any costume. The naming thing is just them using the wrong ID.

I was so disappointed when I bought the PC version, I can't do the online features which was basically my favorite part of Rayman Legends. How do you access the servers? Did Ubisoft shut down the servers for PC? So much disappointment. The only redeeming factor is now I can do "remote play" with friends online. Still doesn't cover up the big community part of Rayman Legends for me.

Yes, they shut them down for the PC version only, most likely due to some exploit which was discovered.

Well, if Barbara was an amazon woman it would make sense for her to be 2+ meters, however she is described as a "small barbarian" and even Olympia is described as a "little princess".
