Rayman Pirate-Community

To be really honest, I don't see why anyone would think his hair would be his ears if not told specifically. First of all, his ears would be in a different colour then his skin, which is rarely seen on creatures ( yes, even fantasy creatures! ), and secondly his ears would be right on his skull, and not on the sides, which is something that is rarely seen as well.

Knowing this, why would anyone believe his hair would be his ears if no one told him / her what it really is ?

The unusual shape, perhaps?

I'm kind of with Dango. Of course it's hair, but I think the hair (particularly the style in the second game) was designed to be quite animalistic. It gives his head a nicer and more recognisable shape.

It's just a hair style in a special shape. For the reasons I pointed out in my previous post I think most people will be able to tell it's hair, even if they're not told that it is.

I mean just look at him: he's pretty much "Buggs Bunny", basically a humanized rabbit. Don't you think that's obvious, considering Rayman is a game made for children? The original Rayman was made in 1995, and we all know that games of those days never incorperated human characters. Just look at Crash Bandicoot, or Spyro the Dragon and other games made around the same time- and there you have it. No human characters. Rayman isn't human either. He's actually a humanized rabbit.

He's not a rabbit, he's a limbless being with a big nose. Look at his hair before Rayman 2. It didn't resemble a rabbit in the slightest.

Actually Rayman 1 is when he's the most rabbit-like of all. I mean think about it; he can't "punch", or "hang" or anything. Don't you think that punching and hanging are things a normal, HUMAN adult male should be able to do naturally? But a RABBIT certainly couldn't! That's why he was granted those powers by the fairy.

Actually, I'm with Dango. I played R2 first, and I thought those were his ears too and I also thought he was a dog. That is, until I played R1 and R3.

We all know he's a rabbit though. All the evidence points to it.

Anything that involves "rabbid" or "Rabbit" makes me think of rabbids which makes me set a fucking time bomb.

Rayman's hair not only doesn't resemble rabbit ears (wrong shape, colour, inside is the same colour as the outside), but all of the games refer to 'helicopter HAIR' repeatedly. A big nose isn't something all cartoon rabbits have (bugs sure doesn't), and even than it's too round, and the mouth too far back, not to mention a lack of whiskers. Besides that, the rest of his body doesn't resemble a rabbit at all, so I rest my case: everyone who ever thought Rayman was a rabbit is MAD I tell you, pure MADNESS. i originally had a much longer message, with more all caps words, but i deleted it because it was so long 9and it broke my shift key0
