Though Ting is valid too on RPC

Re: The You Game!
< says Hoodlums' Revenge is an isometric platformer, not 2D nor 3D. Interesting. Though < knew it already since < has played it before. At least < knows < will have an easier time scoring in this game.
Re: The You Game!
< played if for like 5 minutes to make sure it worked but that's all < knows about it

Re: The You Game!
< easily finished 3 levels in 30 minutes.
It's easy for <.
One of the main reasons < is playing the game is so that < can input <'s findings into the Wiki at some point. Though < needs to teach <self how to do so.

Re: The You Game!
Right now < is trying to get <'s softmodded xbox to run Rayman 3 in 16:9 as < is almost sure it's 4:3 being stretched right now. PS2 looks much thinner and the game supports 16:9 on xbox so < has to figure this out.
< has the real game of Rayman 3 anyway and at this stage < would nearly just undo the mods and revert to stock to see if that works only that's a lot of effort for < if < ever wants it done again. < is literally playing unmodified Rayman 3 from the disc anyway so < wishes < just had an unmodified xbox and a memory card to transfer the save without lots of hassle

<'s finally put <'s knowledge of mechanics to use by starting to program a pendulous grappling hook for <'s game which follows simple harmonic motion

Re: The You Game!
<'s finally got <'s grappling hook working after an hour and a half...
You press space to attach the rope to a pivot point, and you can change the length of the rope with up and down.
The swinging is done by setting the angle of the rope to a multiple of cos(theta + initial angle) where theta is a value which increments by 10/(length of rope) every frame, so that when the rope is longer it will swing with a lower frequency to simulate energy conservation. Initial angle is just the angle between you and the pivot point, to make sure the oscillation begins at the point of your character.
Theta will also decrease instead of increasing if you're on the right side of the pivot rather than the left before you start swinging, just to make sure you're initially moving towards the equilibrium point rather than away from it at the beginning of your swing. < did this by calculating the difference between the player's X ordinate and the X ordinate of the pivot point, then dividing this by the absolute value of itself to give either 1 or -1 depending on whether you're on the left or right, and theta is multiplied by this value.
Now that that's done, < has to come up with a way of only grappling to the closest pivot point to the player which < somehow feels will be even harder to pull off
