I remember saying I wanted him to have a slight English accent, lol. Like one of the voice actors for Albert Wesker of Biohazard/Resident Evil. But I think the one from Code Veronica would suit him better than the one from 5.

Then I thought T.C. Carson: Kratos from God of War, but it's way too deep unless he'd decide to do it differently. Then I thought Clancy Brown: Montross from Star Wars Bounty Hunter, Long Feng from Avatar-the Last Airbender, Trigon from Teen Titans, and many other stuff. Then I thought J. Michael Tatem (Tatum?), then I was like "No. Just...no."

Then I thought Christopher Sabat, the guy who singlehandedly voiced half our anime childhoods...

I will still enjoy a cartoon based on Origins personally. Seems like a great candidate for some animated shorts.

I agree. On the other hand, long ones based on Origins would not work in my opinion.

They could if they have the right writers, voice actors, and all the other things in between to make it a good show.

I guess so but it would still look a bit weird to me considering there is hardly voice acting in RO.

Granted, but it would be nice to give Rayman a voice since he's been rather quiet the past 2 titles.

I mostly in favor with the Origins style because it's very "eye-catching" to put it into my own words. I personally think it would be more attracting to the present day audience.

Do you think maybe they should change voice of Rayman and find new person?

Definitely, though it depends on what kind of character/personality Rayman has.

Please no. He sounds like Barney from the Simpsons.

Yes, although Globox's voice is not bad.

Parody or not, I like how Mr. Dark is there. Even though he is completely out of his character the most.

If Mr.Dark had to be portrayed in a comedic way, I think having a Lord Hater type of personality would work, a comically serious character as TV Tropes calls it. Though I do agree with Master, I would like Mr.Dark to be portrayed like the Lich from Adventure Time.

It doesn't matter. It's all about the atmosphere and the universe. The Rayman character is scarcely even relevant. People only think they care about him because he serves as a handy focal point for the emotions instigated by the games with which he's associated.

Actually it does. We are talking about a cartoon here, so if the characters don't have personality and none are really interacting with one another, what's the point of having the show?

Actually, spiraldoor is right, and to go into detail as to why: Characters' personalities - and characters themselves - are only one single element of what defines a cartoon. Given that none of the characters in the existing Rayman franchise have anything to set them apart from those of almost any other work of fiction, for it to be an aesthetically faithful Rayman cartoon, the atmosphere and world - the things that are given depth and are distinctively Rayman - are what need to be present first and foremost.

For a direct, factual reference as to what this means: If all the Rayman characters had completely different designs but retained their personalities and it were set somewhere else, there would be literally no indication whatsoever that it is a Rayman cartoon. On the other hand, if all the Rayman characters had completely different designs, their personalities were ditched, and it were set in a Glade-esque environment, it would be far more identifiable as a Rayman cartoon if you were to take a gander.

The fact of the matter is that the atmosphere and world are what define Rayman, and if the world/atmosphere are not given as much attention as they are in the games, then you are not watching a Rayman cartoon so much as you are a generic cartoon template with character designs pasted over top.

Case in point – Tonic Trouble.
