Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Thank you, I only want to be sure.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I think i found an easier solution for the hoodlum combo in Part 1 of TDOTK. Why do it with the lockjaw if it is possible with the HMF. I've tried this and the HMF stays long enough to get the hoodlum and the piggybanks in combo ^^
Well, i'm stuck at the knaaren glitch but i'll be fine

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
@Joshua: Well, when I play DOTK next time, I will try this out
I finished the BOM with a "bad" score of 89.000, but I didn't manage the Razoff-Glitch. I will play BOM again and then I give everything for the Razoff-Glitch and 100.799
Come through BOM in one day is easy, I will play today.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
It's a fair score without the Razoff Glitch. You can play BOM through in one day? I usually can't do that. I have problems with the infamous Hoodblaster in the beginning of part 3. Sometimes I have to restart the game 75 times just to keep him alive and that allows me about three attempts at the big combo every day. I would go crazy if I had to restart the game further in the same day. I know it's different depending on the platform you're using. I think Jona once mentioned he had to restart the game about ten times before the Hoodblaster survived, and that number changed when he got a new computer. How many times do you, on average, have to restart the game until the Hoodblaster survives?
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
75 times? Surely that's an exaggeration? For me it happened once every 2 times, or perhaps slightly less frequently. But certainly nothing like 75 times... that would have driven me up the wall. Maybe it's different for each console we play on? I consider myself really lucky.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I wish I were exaggerating. It does indeed take 20 - 25 minutes of restarts to get him alive, so for me part 3 is quite an ordeal. I've been shipwrecked there for the past couple of weeks having difficulty finding the motivation to start and restart that part ad nauseam. How I envy the happy and carefree life on other platforms.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I know, it sounds crazy, but I've got a trick, how the Hoodblaster survive every time
The trick is, when you are playing on the computer, you can leave the display, when you push two buttons (Alt + Tab)
When you do this once more, you come back to the Rayman-Display and the Muddibogs are "frozen, so they can't shoot on the Hoodgarde now.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
You play on PS2, don't you? I also play on PS2 and I have a similar quote. The hoodblaster always dies the first time I start the level and then it survives in about 60-70% percent of the cases. Therefore it might really be the console you play on.Xenon wrote:75 times? Surely that's an exaggeration? For me it happened once every 2 times, or perhaps slightly less frequently. Anyway, I haven't tried TBOM part 5 yet because I had no time on the weekend. I will probably start tomorrow.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Yeah, the percentage of times the Hoodblaster survives must rely on the console. Maybe there's a difference in the Muddibogs' behaviour in the PS2 version; I remember noticing they darted back into their holes very quickly, so maybe this doesn't happen in other consoles...? I recall the Hoodblaster shots often caught the Muddibog just as it popped out of the hole. Or perhaps the Muddibogs stay out of their holes longer in the PS2 version. If this were the case, we would have a better chance at doing the nasty combos in part 3.
But seriously, how can anyone have the bother to start 75 times? Especially when the level itself is hell difficult.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
I yesterday forgot to post that I'm already in Part 5 again with 65.500 Points. At Weekend I will start my mission to get max score in BOM
@MandM: 75 times are a lot.....
I could never suggested that I needed so long once time.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Well, i'm stuck at the Knaaren glitch. The video isn't any help. Can somebody write it down what i should do ? For the rest, i've gotten the hang of all the combo's here (and even found a easier solution for one
) I didn't have much time to play tough
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Oh damn I still can't manage part 3... I've only achieved the 3MC once, and I haven't even done the second one yet. If I can't get these two combos working then my TFC score won't be much higher than Hunchman's post count...
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Mostwanted: That’s a pretty good score you got after part 4. And yes, those 75 times of restarts, it’s annoying beyond comprehension. I thought about making a video of it and share the burden with you all.
Joshua: There are different ways to pass the Knaaren with the Lockjaw. You can search YouTube for other videos. My way of doing it is to jump over him as on my video. It is not as easy as it looks. One must experiment a bit to find out exactly when to jump. It cannot be too soon and not too late. It’s a narrow window of opportunity you’ve got to find.
Xenon: The second combo has ruined it many times for me as well. If you get the 3MC combo right, maybe you can take the last Matuvu in combo with just one yellow gem, namely the last one? You lose 500 points, or maybe you can say you win 500 points depending on how you look at it. That way you can go on and increase your overall score. You can return later to FC and replay it with more confidence.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
@Joshua: They are two more ways to trigger the Glitch. One position is at the back, where DTUCC made a video from. The other position is left on the wall, near the two scratches on the floor. Maybe I make one vid to show you this position.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
You mentioned in your solution that it's possible to combo the Matuvu after 10/11 items (these extra three being the gems on the ground floor). I can easily combo it with the one yellow gem nearest to it, and I don't really know how this works because normally it would be impossible to move the camera so much and take a Matuvu in combo. Anyway, I don't see how you can combo this Matuvu after 10 items - it just seems so hard because the camera messes so much up.Xenon: The second combo has ruined it many times for me as well. Even going for the 8 items, I still struggle to get it, and in fact I haven't even managed to combo it yet, I've only come very close. If I get the 3MC working 1/50 times, and the second Matuvu Combo 1/50 times, it would mean I could be playing up to 2500 times.

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Well, I think when you take the gems on the left side of the groundfloor, it's hard, but when you use the three gems right, it's more easier. My method was, to ignore the two gems, then roll up from the edge, and get the gem on the left in the combo. Now take a good position for the matuvu, get the secod gem, and before you get the remaining gem, take the ideal position for the matuvu, so that you only have to take the camery low to the top.
Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
Yes, that's exactly what's needed if 10 or more gems are used, but how do you get the camera positioned correctly? Even when I'm taking things slow, it takes me a good 15 seconds to get the bloody camera the correct angle. Sometimes it's impossible to move the camera unless Rayman is actually moved himself, but this would take up valuable time. To me this sounds a lot like a truck trying to reverse into a driveway.

Well, I can make a video to show this. It's not easy to explain this in words.
@Joshua: Do you are still hanging on Part 1 in DOTK?

Re: The Rayman 3 Scores Topic
A video would be fantastic
Still though, looks damn hard even without the camera messups.
And I think Josh has moved to TLOTLD.
