Not being funny but

I'm getting less and less fond of the word "dark"; mainly because it reminds me of people who only like vampires and shit just for the sake of it.

And on my side, I think Bad isn't menacing, when you call someone bad it's not like you're truly calling them evil.

Mr. Dark is a bad guy in a sense, a common term I guess but when you just say he's bad, I feel like you're calling him bad-ass. I don't know, I just like Dark Rayman better because when you hear that you know he should be more than bad-ass, he's obviously on the other side.

*yeah, kill me for my bullshit right now, even I don't know what the hell I just said*

If Dark Rayman was supposed to be Bad Rayman, do you not think Ubisoft would make more of an effort with colour correspondence?

Maybe they just tried to make him look more awesome.

It seems much more likely that the two characters are different. Everybody imagines an evil version of Rayman - maybe Ubisoft just forgot about the one they created in the original game.

I think they forgot that Rayman can throw his fist! :tssk:
EDIT: Whoah! I've only been here for a week and a half and I'm already a Paluchard!

That seems to me to be evidence for them being the same; as it would explain why they didn't make the colours the same. And besides, if the one in Arena was made without the developers even knowing about the one in R1, that would basically be two teams making different versions of the same character.

Yeah but just look at the stark difference between the two characters. It's not even just about appearance: Bad Rayman isn't even a live being.

Sure he is. He was created by Mister Dark in the same manner that he created the Antitoons, as noted in another topic, and those are living beings.

We don't know if the one in R1 is a living being, nor do we know if the one in Arena is a living being.

Is Rayman (normal) a live being?

Of course he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you mean that he is controlled by the player.

So Dark/Bad Rayman can be one too.

I've got a strange idea in my mind... Bright Rayman.

No. Erase all thoughts of that horrible, horrible concept. We don't want Rayman to become another Sonic, having a new useless form every three games.

Well, actually, if we figure out how to successfully hack Rayman Designer WLD files, we could have a level where you play as Dark (Bad) Rayman and Mr. Dark would make Bright Rayman.

Err, my concept was originally whole PLANET of Rayman-like species being bright...

Uh, that's even worse. There should be one set species of Raymanians (or whatever you call them). No subspecies.

Hm. Was there a hedgehog village in Sonic series? None?

What does that have to do with Bright Rayman species?

The same what connects Bright Rayman to Sonic recolours.
