Apparently that's not the only thing they're announcing this week.
Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Have they announced anything else?

Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Well, best be posted, the truth will be revealed in a few hours.
If Valve do announce a Steam Box after years of rumour, gosh, even if it was the writing on the wall, it will still take some accustoming to.

Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
There's one more announcement to come at the end of the week, but I must say, this is turning out to be quite an interesting bunch of announcements indeed.
Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Soooo... the new controller looks... interesting.
Not sure I like their solution for replacing analogue sticks, but who knows, it might be better.

Very curious design indeed, wonder how it'd work irl.

Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Let's not make any assumptions, we've not used the controls ourselves. I trust Valve chose that design for good reason(s).
Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
They seem confident that it give the user more control than sticks, but it's hard to imagine that being true.Master wrote:Very curious design indeed, wonder how it'd work irl.
Especially after experiencing awful "analogue" control with iPhone apps for years.
But we are talking about Valve here, unlikely they'd go for this without being 100% sure about it.

Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Hence why I'd like to wait before we start going off.
Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Experience with iPhone version of R2 is why I am afraid of this controller. I could not even rescue Ly on iPhone.MrBadGuy wrote:They seem confident that it give the user more control than sticks, but it's hard to imagine that being true.Master wrote:Very curious design indeed, wonder how it'd work irl.

But I guess this is Valve like you guys said so I wont be negative towards it. It just scares me.

Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
Heh, though I must say, it looked like a fancy speaker at first.
Re: Pirate Community Steam Group
I thought the picture was of the back of the controller when I first saw it.
