I liked what he did for the Ubiart games (even though I'm more biased towards Billy Martin due to him making the best tracks in the OST), but as Master said... I wouldn't like it for Rayman 3.

I would like a remaster, sure, but... I'd imagine it would sound of RO/RL instead of.. well, Rayman 3. I think RO has the best music out of all of the games, and I would definitely like to hear more, but not in the eyes of Rayman 3. It wouldn't fit.

As for playing with the original OST, I don't think they would do that. Modding would probably be required in this case :? ...Unless they did that for the BG&E remaster, I wouldn't know because I don't have it :oops2:

I think BG&E has the benefit of having had the same composer (Heral did the original OST), so I suspect even if they did redo the soundtrack it'd be more in line with the HD remasters of the Kingdom Hearts games (where they did new recordings of the existing tracks), rather than something completely different.

I don't see the same happening if he did do Rayman 3, since it was a whole separate group who worked on it, and even if he did try to redo the tracks rather than do something new, I don't know if he'd be able to retain the same "essence" as it were. No disrespect to the fellow, but I think any artist has their own signature approaches and feels to things.

I'd like to remind people not to get their hopes up too much for the Rayman 3 remaster: expect them to do the bare minimum and be (un?)pleasantly surprised if it's anything more than that.

The original rumor about this remaster included it in a larger amount of Ubisoft remasters (6!) as part of a Nintendo 3rd party Switch 1 support initiative.
Considering the amount of games being remastered, it seems unlikely that they will do anything more than a simple port for any of the games listed.
If the rumor is to be believed at all, the situation here sounds like a last-minute effort to keep supporting the Switch 1, rather than BG&E's 20th Anniversary Edition, which was a project started years before its release in collaboration between Ubisoft & Virtuos. I think major graphics overhauls, soundtrack redos and more are out of the question here (personally, I'm more than OK with this, the old game is perfectly fine and the BGE remaster was a huge downgrade from the original). Unfortunately I don't even think we'll get anything like BG&E's Anniversary Gallery. I'll be happy if I'm wrong though.
Of course it could turn out that this rumor was false, and nothing is getting remastered.

As for Christophe Héral's "multiple Rayman games" concert description, keep in mind this wasn't written by him. It was written by some random person who worked on the website of No Limit Festival - hardly a reliable source, not even for whether he is currently working on any Rayman project. (Of course he'll continue to compose for Rayman if they ask him, and he is the obvious choice for the composer of a new game, but I'm not really sure if they will ask him for a remake.) I'll believe it when I hear it.
It's more worth reporting that this concert will include an orchestral performance of Rayman music on March 23rd! I'll give it a listen if they publish a recording later on. :)

I apologize if this post comes across as negative, but I felt like it needed to be said. In these past few years I've seen so many times that people get their hopes up without thinking, only to be extremely disappointed when whatever they dreamed of doesn't happen.

Speaking of older rumours, what happened to these rumours?

Master wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 12:53 pm While I do enjoy his work, I would really hope that isn't the case, his musical aesthetic was nice for the UbiArt era, but I'd not have it retroactively applied to previous games - I like each game having its own identity. I would imagine if the soundtrack was needing redoing it'd be licensing issues, but I hope that the original ost can still feature in any case.
My thoughts exactly. Héral is a great composer, and his music fits the UbiArt games perfectly, but I can't imagine playing Rayman 2 to the sound of kazoos. The game is indissociable from the style of Éric Chevalier, and the same can be said about Rayman 1 and 3 and their respective composers. Let's hope that the UbiArt style, whether it's the music or the humor, is not generalized to the whole series.

Rayman 3 is clearly the game from the main trilogy that is the least in need of a remake, so I'm fine with a basic remaster too. I just hope we won't get a repeat of Rayman 3 HD, which was quite a downgrade from the original, and I also think the modding community has already put the bar quite high in terms of improving graphics and compatibility for the game, so I'm curious what a remaster could actually do that the community hasn't achieved already.

Ah yes, the days when I was actually active here, 2021-2 I think? I used to be way more ambitious than I am now. I'm almost 15 now. Crazy. Looks like we're finally getting a new game ya'll. I will admit though that my interest has faded after so many years.

While I am definitely sceptical about any new Rayman project, this one seems promising. I hope that something will come out of this eventually!

Someone created this today, but I can't find any source at all about it. If it's a leak, it's a pretty strange one... 🤨

Considering that the account was made the same day as that article was made, and they didn't cite anything, I'm incredibly skeptical on this being legitimate, truth be told. And even if it were a leak, I would never consider making an article for something unless official word was given, to me RayWiki's meant to try to take priority on official word, and minimise use of rumour.

best case scenario is that it is a plant by Ubi marketing. Every other scenario is not worth keeping this page IMO.

And there talking infitesimal chances of this coming from Ubi, as swell as that would be.

I'll be honest, even as a guerilla marketing tactic, I'd be a bit repulsed to see a fan effort be used in such a capacity. We're not UbiSoft's marketing department. Granted it wouldn't be egregious as what McDonalds did to the McDonald's Wiki, but still, bad taste IMO.

Yeah, there's NO WAY this could be real. Also let's take note, the person who created this article has not said anything here either since, which makes it even more clear to me aside from the obvious that the article is just bogus nonsense.

"Rayman Retold" sounds like it could be a remake, but so could a lot of other names.

I have a hunch that this remake will be like a test to see if people are still interested in the series (i.e. if it is still profitable for them :bad: ) and to see if they should release more games (for that refers to that in the exploration stage and the name of the project suggests that it will be Rayman 2, the most iconic title of the series in general and perhaps if the game is successful it could release games faster. Honestly that sounds GREAT like 2015 or 2010,but Ubisoft lately it is worrying,im really curious about what happing with rayman hostly,it can be good or bad :?

Yeah I agree. I'm taking all of this with a huge grain of salt because who knows if we even get to see a tech demo before Ubisoft sells its assets or something. I'm guessing they just didn't want to lose face and hoped this would renew confidence in the company.

Ubisoft is currently recruiting a senior concept artist and lead FX artist for the Rayman brand. No more information about the project itself.
