Billion in Spanish is 1.000.000.000.000 :lol:
Oh yeah, that's the case for all the European languages. But the Americans had to switch it all up, and then dragged the rest of the Anglosphere along with them :mefiant:

Canadas weird with languages. We use European English but Franco Ontariens have their own French dialect.

So they decided "hey Jim, let's divide all the numbers by 1000 and give them the same name"... "Great idea Jim! Give this man a raise!"

So in European languages (and older European English, not anymore), it was like
Thousand = 103
Million = 106
Milliard = 109
Billion = 1012
Billiard = 1015
Trillion = 1018
Trilliard = 1021
etc.

But the Americans decided to take out the "-iard" steps and just condense the whole thing down

Well there's no such thing as a Zillion, so there wouldn't be a Zilliard either :mefiant:

NGL in French its confusinf

mil= k
million=million..

I don't know why they complicate things!!

Well, "million" was derived from "mille" as meaning "mille mille", but then English borrowed the French term instead of coming up with its own "thousand thousand" term. So if English seems less confusing, it's just because it borrowed one French term but not the other ;)

Highest? I don't think there is a highest one, though obviously they get more and more awkward as you keep going up.

It's basically English + French, it was devloped over time with our culture with us French ontariens. I think this came about after the French ban of 1912, as children started to mix the two due to them not learning french at school past the second grade.
