It's simply an inconvieniance. Why not option for local and online play? Castle Crashers for example was an incredibly fun game and offered a very similar experience online and offline. sure it would be great playing with your buddies in the same room, but as discussed maybe your good friend moved or you talk to someone on here that you wanna play with etc.
Plus having online would help with sales. If theres only local only one person could get it and everyone would just go to his/her house to play it. Rather than everyone buying a copy to all play together online.

Maybe the online-mode is a secret to be unveiled at E3 this year. They didn't wanted the news of Rayman Origins for Wii to come out before E3, so maybe there are other secrets to be unveiled at E3.

Adding a fully-functioning online mode would consume too many resources. If they thought it was worth doing, they would have done it. The time and money that would have been spent creating and honing this mode will now be dedicated to more important aspects of the game.
My guess is that Mr Dark will be introduced as a new, benevolent character – whose face we will see – but that he will become warped by the nightmares of Bubble Dreamer over the course of the game. I think this is why they decided that Darktoons are warped Electoons – to set up Mr Dark’s origin.

Not to mention it'll probably be mostly ten year olds ragequitting when they get their asses whooped on there ie if there's gonna be a competition mode.

Very nice find, Spiral. I can't wait to read more about the different worlds in Origins.

I like his new, pitiful look in Origins, and the way he was redesigned is quite reminiscent of the changes Bzzit underwent in Revolution. On this subject, I wouldn't mind if Origins cleared up the whole mosquito thing, but it's probably not a priority for the developers.

I'm really sorry if it's been already posted, but it's the first thing I haven't seen in this thread yet, so excuse me again...

That was shown few weeks after the announcement of RO.
It would be very silly from Ubisoft not releasing RO for the PC.

I know this is off topic, but are you still working on Rayman 1.5 ?

An entity referred to as ‘Ubi |art|’ is credited for ‘Merchandising and Visual Creations’ in Rayman Raving Rabbids. Does this mean that UbiArt have been around in some form for longer than we think? The name certainly has.

Yes it did, more precisely in the merchandising of PVC figures, T-Shirts and other goodies about the Rabbids.

Yeah they've been making Rabbids merch since the beginning of Rabbids, and really nice stuff at that, hardly any tacky stuff so they've got some good quality control going on.

So is it one team of people that actually made the transition from merchandise manufacture to games development, or did Ubisoft just decide the name ‘UbiArt’ was too good to waste on one division?

Haven’t you learnt your lesson yet? Don’t you realise you’ll be reading back over this and facepalming in a few months’ time?

Why dislike a division just because they've made a buttload of Rabbids stuff? Perhaps the main reason there's a lot more than there ever was of Rayman is simply because the Rabbids were easier to design as ie. toys - as we all know most if not all Rayman toys had to involve him sitting on or leaning against something in order for them to work. Who knows, UbiART could do some lovely Rayman-only stuff if there is demand for it.
