Sort of like these things I made last year with Spanex's rank template?





Just thought I'd put these here since it's a visualisation.

All I want is a rank template with smooth edges.

Yeah, having two different colours based on goodies/baddies would make sense I guess.

I disagree. It's enough that the ranks have two different avatars on the same level, changing the colour wouldn't just be the same.

I agree with Rulez.

Me too, the pink is fine for me.

If anything, I'd think that the different colours would actually define their stance better than if not. It makes the two sides more distinguished.

Sorry but I'm against this idea too, chiefly because blue and pink give an unwarranted suggestion of gender alignment.

Other than this, I don't think it's at all necessary to complicate matters with a multi-coloured ranklist. I'm not even sure we should smoothen the edges of the existing avatars as they appear fine to me.

So because your rank is pink that makes you a woman?

The ranklist is clearly not aligning gender roles so I don't see how making them pink and blue makes it so.

That's the point. Pink and blue are colours that universally represent the genders, so why modify a perfectly reasonable ranklist to incorporate these two colours as the two opposing sides?

From my view it doesn't complicate matters at all if gender is out of the question, in fact, I think it makes it clearer. I see what you mean in regards to gender, but we have the icons directly above our avatars.

Exactly my point. So what if people assign colours to genders? It's just colours at the end of the day. Maybe if we stopped going on about people assigning colours to genders then maybe people will stop doing that.

It doesn't have to be pink vs. blue, any change is fine with me, although it should probably be something that fits with the overall layout.

I think you missed the point there Plum.

In other words if people like Xen stop making a fuss about it then maybe the colours would stop being associated with genders and be nothing more than colours.

I'm not making a fuss, I'm giving my thoughts on an idea that was posted on the last page. And the association would exist regardless of whether it's discussed in this topic. It's not as if I'm trying to persuade users of RPC to associate these colours with male and female.

Anyway, Matyuv's template looks great. Let's see what our admin says!
