Um yeah I use a PS1 memory card all the time whenever I play Rayman on the PS2, it's exactly the same. Have you like, never had a PS2 before then?

Just to double check, I checked on the list of PS1 games that are not compatible with the PS2 and Rayman is in neither so it should definitely play on all PS2 models.

So i heard that you would need a PS1 memory card if i schould play Rayman 1 with PS2, True or false? and do i get all the effects when i use PS2 instead of 1 and all the other PS1 exclusive goodies? :P
I have Rayman 1, and the most recent model of PS2 and it works greatly. I just need a PS1 Memory Card to be able to save the progress.

Ive never had a PS1, thats why i asked if i really needed to use PS1 memory card for Rayman if i use PS2 :P But theres no way around to save the progress with a PS2 memory card? If so then.. ill have to buy a PS1 memory card :o

No you have to use a PS1 card, and there's bound to be some on eBay, Amazon or whatever.

I'm playing Rayman 1 on my PS2 right now. It works fine, but if you wish to save to a memcard instead of using a password, you not only need a PS1 memcard, but it has to be in the left port. It at least prompts you to insert the card until you get it in the right port.

It was what I said posts ago. Passwords are annoying because they don't have the Electoons data, in other words you have always empty medalions.

The passwords save the Electoon data when you break all six cages in a level, they just don't save it when you have between zero and five. They also don't save which life statues you've collected, which can be hugely beneficial.

Oh the horrors of having to use passwords for actually saving the game [it's beneficial for skipping levels in an emu though :P] until I got a memory card.

On an somewhat-related note, I discovered a sequence-break by which one can skip the Mr Sax fight entirely. What's fascinating is that the password system actually seems to have been programmed to accept this; there is actually a password which lets you access Mr Dark's Dare as well as Mr Sax's Hullaballoo as though you hadn't visited it before, and fight both bosses. This makes me wonder if there's a password which lets you fight all of the bosses, as that truly would be the ultimate password.

Oh that I didn't know. Then for people who haven't a memory card should ignore the cages until getting all the powers, then yes: return to the levels to break all the cages and "save them up".

You don't need passwords to skip Mr. Sax, just break all the cages in the first part and then die.

That was the sequence-break which I was referring to. You seem to have missed my main point; the possibility of having both Mr Sax and Mr Dark (or Mr Sax and Mr Stone, or Mr Sax and Space Mama, or Mr Sax and Mr Skops) accessible at the same time is accounted-for by the game's password system. Therefore other combinations may also be accounted-for. It is even possible that there is an ultra-convenient 'holy grail' of passwords, which lets you access all of the game's levels as if you had not played them before.

It really stinks that I have Rayman for the PC, but our stupid computer won't let us play it.

what kind of PC do you have and if it's XP did you know you can patch it?

I have a really old Windows, it's the one in the basement, I bet I could play it on the computer I'm on right now if our Mom didn't pack up the Rayman games because we're moving.

I got a question:
¿How many days it takes to finish Rayman 1?
Because it takes me almost 3 days to get to the Blue Mountains, because i don't play so much that game. Also, what's the cheat to get to the Breakout minigame on Rayman 1? (I have the PC version.)Oh and aaaalso! I have seen that in the Jaguar version (I think it's the demo or something) theres a giant gift in the sky, what it's that?
