Can you please elaborate further? There's very little to work with using the provided clues.
I'm not saying give the answer away, but we need a little more information, considering two clues just barely provided as much information as one clue should have in the first place.

The Zaqs were intended to be aquatic creatures in The Land of the Livid Dead but were scrapped. I read in the wiki some scrapped content from Rayman 3. Also, for some reason, whenever I look at the Zaqs, I feel like they're awfully familiar from somewhere...
By the way, my answer was the Murkins.

Yeah, looking at those Zaqs makes me think of BG&E. Probably because of the mutant jellyfish ("les bougnasses")…
