By "xenophilous" I intended to mean "loving of foreign things", as opposed to "xenophobic". I went with "-ous" instead of "-ic" because somehow the latter version made me think more of enjoying sex with foreigners. But that probably wasn't justified.

Level of vocabulary is pretty high indeed. Though, flogging. Very medieval choice.

My parents started using "flogging" and "flegging" as opposed to the more usual terms around me, so they wouldn't be hypocritical when they said not to swear. It stuck. But I have a friend in college who says "flogging" as well.

Now that April Fools has come and gone, time to resume standard procedures.
