Did you read the rest of what I said? Anyway, the more 'upsetting' thing is what we are writing so-called essays about! If writing essays (which I'm not doing...?) bothered me more than the current state of gaming then I wouldn't be contributing here, would I?

That's how the conversation started, it's fine to see Serza is fully aware she's an idiot (anita, not you serz, lol) but my main gripe is feminism with games in general, I would love to see more female protagonists but you all go such far lengths to tell people they're wrong. And in the end it not only hurts yourself but others.

I did indeed - I believe it started not with Anita, but with a news story about GTAV being pulled off Australian shelves. You guys expressed some bile towards Anita that myself and Serza took issue with, Serza ventured in, here we are! My point was that you keep trying to pull this round to Anita even when Serz was saying "we're agreed on her, now there's also this" . She ISN'T the be all and end all, nor is she particularly representative, as we have both stated. She did not start feminism in gaming, my god, man! Perhaps she was the origin of your awareness of feminism in gaming, and she has certainly made waves. But when we, two feminists in gaming, are actually talking to you... It strikes me as a bit obsessed.

Also, saer, I agree with what you're trying to say - but ignoring things doesn't seem to make them go away. We can do both, you know. And we can ask for more good things!

It's not that you wrote long paragraphs, just that you kept. Bringing. Her. Up. Which trend? The trend of feminist scrutiny of gaming? She's not an examplar in that fashion, and it was going on before she got there. No, it seems to me that her importance stems from the fact that she introduced this sort of criticism to You(TM) (not you specifically, it's a general you). She's not even a good example of it.

She is not the source of the GTAV incident and other similar happenings. She is one voice of that source, one particular voice that You(TM) have amplified.

You're right, let's look towards the other major roles in gaming... Zoe Quinn... oh. See? It's not Anita that's the problem, it's the fact that any big feminist gamer can barely disprove anything. I guess I was bringing up Anita too much, but my main point is that any major feminist role we've seen in games hasn't been able to thoroughly disprove anything without any form of "HARASSMENT! MISOGYNY!" Thus, the problem ensues. You can't deny the fact that this topic didn't become popular until you know who showed up, that's all I'll say on that topic.

Don't worry, there are plenty of issues in both your's and Serza's posts that are flawed to me.

I can't even keep up with this cavalcade of shit, there are new, 2000-word posts showing up every five seconds.

However, I did read Saerleiya's post, and I agree completely, and that's also the reason I will almost always choose a female player.

It didn't become popular until you started using inflammatory language. Mention Anita? Pshaw. Joke about how she should be hit? You'll notice that's what Serza first responded to. This conversation would have gone very differently if you hadn't used that language. A discussion would still have been had, I'm sure - but it would have been different.

And the fact that you cite Zoe Quinn as a major role(?) in gaming only proves my point that this is ultimately to do with where your attention lies. When we provide you with a different outlook on feminism in gaming, you rush back to your Literally Who's because it's all you seem to know. We're trying to broaden that. I don't doubt you respect Serza

Even though I apoligised for the hit statement TWICE. You talk about my two repeating statements yet you haven't brung that up? I'm not insulting anyone here but it bothers me how when I challenge someone else's opinion all of a sudden it's "quit being obsessive, quit insulting". I'm putting these as nicely as possible, I'm not sure what else you want honestly. I'm sorry if I came across as a bit dickish, I'm just disagreeing for the most part (I use a bit of fucks and shits there to describe something). One of many, it's not just Zoe, I said ANYONE who has tried to disprove has done poorly, at least you and Serza are holding up, and that I do respect.

Reading back even I don't agree with all my statements, but I still cling onto the fact feminism in gaming is unnecessary really.

I'm not denying that you apologised, and I appreciate that you stopped. But you talked about how this all started so I brought it up. I think I just wasn't sure what opinion you thought you were challenging when Serz in particular was agreeing with you.

And men in all of this? Do we have a word about more main characters being female? Just curious if we have the right to ask for it .

And I think there are already a lot of very well developped female characters in many video games. To my mind, it's mainly the fact that there isn't the same amount of equality about main characters YET.
