I have Wii U version but I would not mind supporting it on Steam like I did with all other good Sonic games (and bad ones too since they were all in one pack for huge discount lol)

Very reasonable price as well.
Huh? I thought Nintendo had an exclusivity deal on it. Might consider buying it then, just to see what everyone is going on about as it doesn't seem like a bad game to me from the videos I have watched.

Nintendo had exclusivity deal until 3 Sonic games are released on Nintendo systems. Then Sega is free to do what they want.

Huh, Lost World on PC? How will they translate the Wii U features over, I wonder?

Where can I find full version of Thomas The Tank Engine theme in Sonic 1 style?

As for the premice of "hey 2D Sonic were amazing let's make one again", this looks more inspired than Sonic 4. So wait and see.

kek, the new Sonic games are basically just more of the only good things that ever came out of the series - the originals and Generations. That's fine though, it's a good move to sweep Boom under the rug and rebuild Sonic's name a little with all the ridicule and memes it's been getting thrown at.

These games are essentially the same damage control that Sonic 4 & Generations were, but I hope that with so many disasters behind them they really get it right moving forward from here. I guess just like it's been for the past decade, it's back to the drawing board for Sega. I would really like to see them finally introduce something that settles well with people, and then every once in a while they can bring something Generations-y out.

It kinda looks like a fangame, though that's not an insult, given how spectacular the fangames that come out of the Sonic community can be. I just feel it's a little underwhelming compared to what Generations offered. That being said, I did notice that Christian Whitehead, one of the fellas behind the Sonic CD, Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 updates (the latter two having only been released on mobile, for some bizarre reason) was amongst the many parties in the trailer.

Didn't see Sonic Team though, I don't think they've been disbanded, so one wonders what they're doing. All in all, i probably will get it, it looks like a fun title, but I do feel a little underhyped, I guess.

EDIT: Ah, so Sonic Team DID announce something:

Hmm, going the dark and edgy route again? Here's hoping they don't go all Shadow the Hedgehog. Interesting how they're going for an almost SatAM feel, where the world is overrun and Sonic is part of a resistance. Either ways, here's hoping they don't mess up, I don't think Sonic can handle another 06 or Boom.

EDIT 2:

Sonic in the Land of Ooo, the TARDIS and Aperture Science? Only with LEGO. Guess it really does bring folk together.

Anywho, not so underwhelmed now.

I think this is the first time Sonic team thought: hey what made our games so great?
This title should be something, always when a huge company decides to make a 2d tribute game it ends up looking gorgeous.

I REALLY hope that trailer for Project Sonic 2017 does not reflect what the actual game will look like.

I hope whatever the whole edgy thing implies, it's toned down in the game and it doesn't take itself seriously. Pls no more dA fanfiction plots.

I thought you guys liked edginess and seriousness? :3c

Anyways, both games look really interesting! Looking forward to both!

Eh, much like most things, it depends on the execution. Most times Sonic attempts the edgy route, it becomes cringeworthy to the point of churning out memes.

Yeah, edginess and seriousness can be fun, but… It's Sonic. The blue hedgehog who goes fast. And come on, have you see those robots design!?
I'm not even talking about Dr Eggman, the round guy with a mustache. Or Shadow, who… work for the President I think?
Eh, anyway. It's Sonic. If there is something we have learned from previous years, it's that edginess… don't really fit him.

… Even if it can be funny though. :P
Plus, hey, Sonic Generations and Sonic Colors were pretty cool. So who knows, this can be nice.
Actually], wouldn't a game with great mechanics and level-design and a terrible and ridiculous story be THE perfect Sonic Game?

I dunno though, SatAM and the Archie Comics were darker incarnations of the Sonic franchise, and both seem to have been received pretty decently. I won't deny that the games have never done it too well, but I do believe that Sonic in general is capable of a darker tone. Like I said, it's down to how it's done. Given that a resistance and a robot dystopia were both features of the two aforementioned incarnations, I'm willing to give this a chance.

Of course, this is only a teaser trailer, and we may very well see this dip to 06 or even Shadow's level of cringy edgyness, but for the time being, I'm keeping an open mind.

At this point I think what Sonic needs more than anything is a game whose most noteworthy feature isn't the abundance of glitches and bugs given that, besides it's classic titles, is what it's most famous titles are known for especially the- thing that is the Boom game.

By the looks of this one it seems to want to be a Generatoins sequel which was honestly the more surprising part of the reveal despite the same team working on it. But it'd be nice regardless if it got a similar end product in the sense that it was a mordern Sonic that isn't outright bad or a laughing stock.

At least if they fuck it up again we get new memes and YouTube playthroughs.

I think the problem with Sanic has always been that as far as 3D goes, it's only ever been fun when it's the Generations-style gameplay, but to avoid just repeating the same formula continuously they always add some sort of gimmick or other mechanics to differentiate the games, but those generally suck shit. The characters besides Sonic in Adventure are mostly terrible, the "Werehog" levels in Unleashed induce aneurysms, etc.

Maybe they'll make another Sonic medieval swordfighting game.
