< thinks it's annoying, especially when you end up with about 20 folders open at once.

< is depressed more than anything. < hates how unfair life can be. Even though < tells the truth, it is just BS and <'s father think that he can hit < across the face. He didn't do it but he was going to, anyway. He lifted his hand and was gonna strike < and < didn't even do anything to deserve that treatment. < knows < was yelling but < knows what < did. < doesn't appreciate someone mentioning things about < that is not true. But he thinks he can hit < even though < is telling the truth.
< is done with life. It seems like no matter what < does, it never is good enough.
When this school term comes back, they will never see a smile on <'s face. < will never be smiling. < has been through too much and this crap will start again.

< would say that parents normally do these things because they care about their kids and don't like what they're doing. < hated how < was always punished by <'s parents growing up, not realising that all along, they only wanted to protect < and do the right thing. < can't speak for all parents though, unfortunately there are some who haven't a clue, especially these days.

< is slightly curious as to why nobody's voted in the SOTM tiebreaker…

< will vote in a bit, < had forgotten about it.
< tried to manually update to later mesa drivers, but then when < compiled and installed them, Debian was only booting to a black screen instead of showing a GUI.
< had to use nomodeset, then use wget in the terminal to download the Debian package for the original mesa driver and install it with dpkg. < was going to ask for Plum's help again, but < has to learn some things <'s self.

< is gonna try to reach 600 000 points in rayman 3 - pc version (no savestates, have to restart the whole section the old way) & 700 000 points in the dolphin GC version (with savestates so obviously easier for combos) before the end of the year. < is quite confident he can do it

< has started recovering and getting over the stress from last week and < has returned to driving <'s aunt to work from Wed-Fri. < is glad to have something to fall back on at least until <'s next adventure.
< has finished updating <'s resume and stuff to reflect the change in <'s status over the past couple days. < is thinking whether to install Linux tomorrow, get OBS and Bandicam up on <'s computer, or to start working on Rayman 1 GBC. There's just so much for < to do that < is considering writing a todo list for <self. < doesn't see <self spending a lot of time in <'s home as a result (including that driving gig), but < can get used to it again.
Speaking of which, < has to go drive soon so < has to be off again.

If ^ needs any help with getting a Linux Distro up and running, < has no problem helping out.

< managed to get the Nvidia GPU to work on Debian with <'s laptop. It runs terrible for some reason and has horrible screen tearing with no option to turn on vsync, but at least it works.
< has been thinking about trying out Arch at some stage. < knows it's much more complicated than the likes of Debian, but < thinks that the best way to learn more about the OS is to experiment with it to get things working.
< doesn't really mind breaking an OS and starting from scratch at this stage anyway, at least < is learning things. Mainly never to run "apt --fix-install broken" without checking what it's trying to do, it might just delete 2GB worth of very important libs that the OS depends on.

< has a USB video capture device which can record composite/S-Video sources.
(If only I could record component/RGB/HDMI…)

< will play some Burnout 2 in the afternoon probably after <'s entry for the current season of SOTM is finished.
God, just talking about Burnout 2 has reminded < of just how flipping amazing Burnout 3 is and it's bringing back < good memories and nostalgia and just how truly great the game was and how fun it was. Plus the fact that < used to talk about it so much on this forum eventually to the point where it made ^^ want to play it too and discovering just how fun it is. Good times.

< has digitized the whole Rayman tape, containing gameplay of Rayman 1, 2 and Revolution

< still needs to edit/upload it though.
Meanwhile, < has published some sample footage from <’s Scooby-Doo/Tom & Jerry tapes:

< says that's great ^, ^ must know lots on Linux at this point (certainly more than <).
< is apparently cursed with left-arrow keys, as now the one on <'s current laptop is getting hard to press ever since the key came out of <'s keyboard.

< might as well go ahead and get a new keyboard for <'s laptop this week. < is nervous about prying open the keyboard, removing, and then inserting the new one. < will need to give <'s friend a call once < gets the keyboard.

In the meantime ^ is reminding < of part of <'s childhood when < liked watching shows on Cartoon Network.

< grew up watching Tom & Jerry, it's a great classic, back when cartoons weren't afraid to have violence.

< says that's great ^, ^ must know lots on Linux at this point (certainly more than <).
When < first joined here, < barely even knew how to "apt install" stuff.
< did learn some simple things about 2 years ago, from the time < had to fix a Walker (Vestel) TV. They apparently run Linux, and a tty can be accessed using a USB-TTL converter, by connecting it to 3 pins of the SCART port. Back then, < learned simple commands like cp, mv, and some basic things about the filesystems structure.
< has learned a lot more about how Linux works in the past few months. < has gotten advice from Plum plenty of times too, since he knows practically everything about the OS. < keeps pushing <'s self to learn more, which is why < decided to install Arch, as it doesn't have a GUI for the installation. That means everything has to be done in a terminal, from partitioning the HDD/SSD, right up until you get a display manager and environment installed, where you finally get to launch a GUI.
< isn't ready to go anywhere near LFS. Even if < could get it to boot, it would probably take weeks, and then everything would just be broken.
< might try Gentoo at some stage in the future though, just to see if < can manage to get it running.

< is glad ^ got mesa working, even if it meant switching distros!
< wonders why nobody's endeavoured to answer the current TTGKQ question…
