< just decided to try Arch since people on protondb were submitting reports for games on the latest mesa. I'm not a huge fan of Ubuntu or Mint, they're too simplistic for me to learn anything, and they're filled with stuff < wouldn't need, bloating the system.

< noticed a lot of things on Debian seemed to be older versions, it likely would have meant compiling all of the libs <'s self and just not using the repositories at all, but then it wouldn't have been Debian anymore anyway, it would be FrankenDebian.

< did hear that the likes of Gentoo are much more customisable, but that it also takes a lot longer to set up than Arch does. < will eventually attempt to install it for the learning experience, and as much as < would like to mess with LFS for the sake of learning, < thinks it might be years before < would manage. :P

Alright so while < loves Photoshop, < thinks some things about it make it look like it acts like it's too professional to handle some simple tasks and overcomplicates them when they could be so simple! <'s completely lost right now. < can go into "File" and then "Place..." and place a PNG image there for instance just fine, though with another image that has the SAME EXACT FILE FORMAT with the only difference that it's image that I just made with GIMP right now as a test, can't open it for some reason and place it there because it gives me this weird, seemingly cryptic error message whenever I try to place it:

"Could not complete your request because the file-format module can not parse the file."

And it gives me similar errors to this but this error in particular would be amazing to fix right now and < would appreciate it the most at the moment if someone helped me since they had the same issue before once. Thanks in advance. :)

< doesn't have too much experience with Photoshop, < mainly just used the basic free programs. Photoshop is a bit expensive, while the free tools do the job for <. < wouldn't mind paying for it if < needed to use if frequently, but < will only use it once in a blue moon. < doesn't want cracked versions that probably download viruses and riddle systems with malware. :P

That's understandable, it's just that it would be amazing if someone could help because there are these thin white lines next to the image to the left and down at the bottom of it, they make it look a bit ugly and < doesn't know how to get rid of them without using Photoshop's eraser tool.

If you mean at the edges, just use the selector tool (first tool in the program) to select the image without selecting those white stripes, then press Image > Crop to Selection.

Says <. :oops2:

Yea but thats exactly the problem, whenever < tries to place the image even though it's a PNG and every other PNG worked for < with Photoshop, it still says the error which prevents < from doing what ^ said. This doesn't make any sense at all, there's just no rhyme or reason for it to happen in the first place.

< wonders if ^ tried to just open the PNG in a new tab in GIMP, then tried selecting and pasting it into the other image from there?

Ah, so ^^ is using GIMP to make ^^'s images now? Nice! < hasn't used it in a while now tbh so < probably doesn't remember much :oops2:

< mainly uses it since it's free and any Linux Distro can use it. < uses the DDS plugin for loading textures.

< thinks ^ misunderstood what < was saying. < only said while < can open a PNG like my sig in Photoshop which < has made in Photoshop, < can't do the same with the test image < made yesterday with GIMP even though they're the exact same file extension as they're both PNGs. < only said that < can load another image like the Bliss one as an example.

Edit: It's fixed now, it's just that < finds some things like this in Photoshop absolute bullshit.

< doesn't know that much about Photoshop, and assumed ^ was referring to GIMP.

< is glad that the latest Valve proton fixes most of the long sprites in Rayman Origins without the need for tweaking. < thinks the proton project is pretty amazing and it just keeps improving.

< gives <'s warmest congratulations!

Tbh going back through this thread < is now a little concerned about R4Y. He seemed really depressed the last time he was here. If you're reading this, cheer up ok? You've got great friends here to talk to! :D

< thinks it's always better to be positive! If < hasn't stayed positive, then < wouldn't be <. < would have given up on finding a job a long time ago. And lots of other things. :P

< had noticed he hasn't been around since that post, and < wouldn't like to see anyone feeling down, so < also hopes he's ok.

< sees that they're finally bringing SNES games to Nintendo Switch, and there have been rumours of them bringing N64 games to it too. That would be amazing, as it's one of the main things < always wanted for the console. < didn't feel like using custom firmware on it either, it would probably end up bricked. :P
