< postponed it for now, the traces are kind of damaged, so the connection would have been weak. < will try again during the week, bypassing the traces with cable to alternative points should solve it if that's possible.

< just heard that Perl 6 was renamed to "Raku" last October. < can't blame them, since 20 years later, "Perl" still implicitly means "Perl 5" to basically everyone…

< sees that Brexit has come into effect, as the UK are no longer part of the EU. < wonders how this will effect people in the long run.

More seriously, < imagines it will affect all of us negatively - the absolute best one can hope for is administrative headaches when dealing with UK companies.

< expects buying stuff online to cause headaches now, considering import tax is probably likely from the UK. < even wonders about companies such as Tesco, and what might happen with the border in Northern Ireland.

A country that’s part-British but without the xenophobia

< really thinks xenophobia is the straw man of the Brexit debate. There are certainly a bunch of good arguments against Brexit, but reducing all criticism of immigration politics to xenophobia (or worse, racism) is rather pathetic.

< is considering installing Gentoo on <'s computer. < was thinking of cloning the SSD so it can be reverted if something goes wrong, but reinstalling Arch from scratch shouldn't take that long if need be.
