Seems any builds of LineageOS for <'s phone are unofficial. < would have to flag KNOX in order to even install it, which voids <'s warranty, though it's not like the warranty covers user error anyway, which is the only thing that could really break the phone.

There are official builds for <'s phone, but < compiles it <'sself anyway. That's a lot less glamorous than it sounds though, since there's a Google tool that automatically fetches the source code for every single repo required (and eats up half your hard drive!

) and then there are just a couple of simple commands that build everything (and take hours!). < once tried making builds with a customized boot animation, but then realized it was less hassle to just put the animation in a separate zip that < can flash after updating the OS.
If < were back in school, < would probably use the long summer holidays to learn how to properly customize an Android build. Perhaps instead of downloading everything, < would try to make use of the package sources that < already has on <'s PC for <'s Linux from Scratch system – there's an awful lot of overlap there…

< would be interested in trying to compile it <'s self. < assumes some features won't work properly, but < would have a lot to learn.

< is thinking about playing Simpson's Hit and Run in the future. < completed like four GTA games and since that game is inspired by them, < doesn't see why not.

< is feeling like having a pretty worthless Saturday since everything's getting locked down. < has been watching American drama on TG4 (Irish-language TV, but luckily they only bother dubbing children's programming) since every other channel is full of depressing virus stuff…

< is just hearing about it non stop, people are acting like it's a bigger deal than it really is. If you think about the death toll, 1 person in Ireland passed away, they were over 80 years old and had a health condition. There are 90 confirmed cases in the Republic, meaning the death toll as of now is 1.11% of people who have the virus (take into account that this person was elderly with health problems).
This is why I think people are overreacting, thousands of healthy people don't need to go to Tesco and buy all the toilet roll, they just need to stay away from elderly or others with health problems, which ideally means that those people at risk should just stay indoors and isolate themselves.

< was able to ski on completely empty slopes thanks to the virus. They shut down ski resorts here in Norway, but we skied all the way to the top and then down.

< noticed today that one of <'s hard drives recently hit the 5-year-uptime mark. Maybe < should consider replacing it with an SSD, since they're getting pretty big at pretty reasonable prices now…

Even though the virus has no vaccine, < doesn't think it's really such a big deal atm either but < thinks it's almost appalling how people here too, seem to be overreacting, crowding around outside stores in the early morning and clearing out all the shelves as if some apocalypse/calamity was coming, including <'s dad. < is already sick of hearing constantly how "dangerous" the virus is and usually < just tunes out whenever anything regarding the virus is heard on tv. Personally whether the virus becomes a real threat or not matters not to < and it's not going to stop < from doing what < has to do.

< does understand that it's a threat to the elderly, the people with health problems, and perhaps newborns, but healthy people overreacting and panic buying like this is only causing chaos for everyone. Those people don't need to be worrying, they'll all be better within a couple of weeks if they get it. The people that are at risk are the only ones who should be buying in bulk, probably best to have a family member do their shopping so they don't have to go into a crowd of people. The problem is that the healthy people are the ones overreacting and making a massive deal about it, when they're not the ones who would die from the virus.

< lives in Italy and as you might imagine, we have been stuck in our homes for a week and it's not going to stop soon, police is always checking everywhere for people that don't respect the quarantine, people go out with face masks, it's a total mess and is actually taken very seriously here, in Apulia a lot of people have already died but luckily enough we don't have overreacting people buying tons of toilet paper etc lol

< used to buy toilet paper every week in the lead-up to Brexit. At one stage, we had 111 rolls on the landing.

Then Brexit happened and nothing changed, so we stopped…
