I never said that every new game was superior to every old game. I meant that games are purely artificial creations, so everything that the developers can do depends heavily on the technological tools at their disposal. That’s why the entire medium of games changes radically over the course of a few years, whereas novels and low-budget films and TV series remain much the same.

Try creating a Commodore 64 game with the ambience of BioShock or Shadow of the Colossus. You see my point?

Rayman Legends, you had my curiosity but now you have my attention.

Ugh... this secret room from Rayman Legends looks like a pain in the capital B.

Of course I do see your point, I'm not trying to say you're entirely wrong. It's just that your opinion seemed a bit extreme ("The two
cannot be separated.")
My point is that technology doesn't play as great a part in the gaming experience than in the making of a game. Try creating a Wii game better than a Commodore 64 game.
Trolling aside, I only disagree with your initial statement, which, again, I find too extreme ; I'm perfectly fine with your last message.

In other news, Matt Taranto did a comic on E3 2012. It's nice to see a Nintendo fanboy have nothing bad to say about our beloved Rayperson.

Rayman Legends
This was awesome! Surprisingly, it may even be nicer-looking than the gorgeous Rayman Origins, and it plays better too. Something about the controls and progression just seemed tighter than last year's game, making for a more polished platforming experience all-around from what I could tell. But just as importantly, the game's design was highly creative and made some of the best use of the Wii U controller at the expo. You basically use the touch-screen to control the grinning bug Murphy and interact with all sorts of things in the environment. This can vary from revealing Lum-filled flowers, changing yellow Lums to pink ones (increasing their value), cutting ropes to help or sabotage Rayman, rotating platforms, making platforms appear, poking eyeball enemies...there was never a shortage of things to do. I'm hoping NSMBU's WUG usage incorporates more elements like this one to keep players busy. And the demo closed with this awesome chase sequence where the actions were keyed up to a great rock tune played by psychotic, guitar-weilding old ladies. Ubi Soft is doing great things with this one!

Yes, as a regular reader of BitF, I noticed this right away. A pleasant surprise, considering he usually tends to concentrate on Nintendo only when doing comics, particularly in the reviews - so Rayman's cameo brought a smile to my face as well as the fact he called it one of the best Wii U games on show, praising it above everything else that was there

Drats, I forgot to point out that he made a top 3 of the games at Nintendo's conference, and instead of a Nintendo game, the first place was taken by RL. Matt surely does know his stuff

Ah... good ol' troll times when the gameplay just gets boring without it.
I liked the Rayman toon too. Did you notice Murfy resembles the one from R2 far more than the one from RO/RL?

Gamesradar:
Unlike Mario, Rayman didn’t need a Flying Squirrel Suit to hold our interest.

Wow RL is on the spotlight. I'm happy it's getting a lot of attention, to me it looks truely better than RO.

Rayman deserves. After several years of silence, and being overshadowed by the Rabbids, Rayman is trying to impose a place in the platforming games again. And Legends does looks much more promissing than Origins!

Hopefully it will get the sales it deserves unlike Origins, which was released at a very unfortunate time...

Though it made some good sales later, that's why it has a sequel

The game will be released this November. Just like when the Origins game was released

Can't wait. November ain't far from now, only 5 months I assume.

The difference between this year and last year is that last year tons of epic games were released along with Rayman Origins. This year almost everything sucks and Rayman Legends got the spotlight.

It is a pity I won't be able to play the game right in release, since I can't afford a Wii U at the moment. MAYBE that will happen when the first price cut of the console happens, but until there I'll wait for a PS3/PC/3DS port.
@Sergio I think it was a mistake the release date of Rayman Origins, because of games like Super Mario 3D Land and TLOZ: Skyward Sword "together" in the same month.

Hopefully by then I'll have finished half the games I haven't even had time to play at all.

That reminds me that I should continue to play BG&E, and others that are waiting to be continued.
