Also, < hopes ^ gets the issue with not having proof fixed, < didn't think it would be that, but yeah that's a pretty big deal.

< thanks ^, < will need to get <'s stomach issues sorted out first, but < just has to wait a little longer for an appointment due to COVID.
< looks forward to it though!

Re: The You Game!
< congratulates Fifo on reaching 9000 posts!
< also wishes Steo luck with finding a course that won't bore him to tears. Sometimes it can be good to go back through the basics though.
< suddenly can't see any icons on the forum.
Re: The You Game!
< will also say well done to Fifo for reaching 9k!
< knows it's likely that the first ones < will need to do are likely going to be simplistic and boring, but < would have to start there before < can get into something more interesting.
EDIT: < will likely have to start with something like ECDL.

Re: The You Game!
Oh God, ECDL… < feels for you in that case.
< did that back in Transition Year and was mostly amused by the Microsoft-centricity of it, and the fact that the interfaces we were learning to use would likely change again very soon. There was even a bit where we learned what a EULA was.
Re: The You Game!
< doesn't think that sounds good then, < dreads it...
Re: The You Game!
< decided to look into ECDL, and it seems to be all related to MS Office stuff. < definitely isn't going to find this fun.

< wonders when you would start?Steo wrote: Mon Sep 28, 2020 9:44 pm < is going to apply for a course soon, preferably in computer hardware since it's something that < always liked working with. < thinks that's something < would like to have a job in.
Re: The You Game!
< plans to get into it asap, but the issue is that < has to start with a very simple one to have qualifications for one that < is interested in. < assumes those basic ones might even be available online, especially with COVID going on.

Re: The You Game!
< supposes you can begin at any time of the year?
Re: The You Game!
< probably can, ECDL seems to be a short part time one, so < assumes they probably do a few of them per year. < will look into it.

Re: The You Game!
< is delighted that Rayman Legends now works with Proton!
Valve seem to have figured out how to get Uplay talking to the native Steam underlying Proton, instead of trying to install Windows Steam inside the prefix!
Re: The You Game!
< doesn't recall ever having issues with Legends, unless they fixed it a long time ago. < does recall uplay being weird though and < had to disable the overlay, otherwise the prompt about bringing up the overlay would just remain on screen.

Re: The You Game!
< can't remember the last time < tried running it under Proton, but it was a very long time ago, probably even before they killed the online features.

Re: The You Game!
< still has a couple stupid bugs to fix here.
Re: The You Game!
< definitely tried it again after that, and Proton has had many fixes, so that's probably why then.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Oct 03, 2020 2:00 pm < can't remember the last time < tried running it under Proton, but it was a very long time ago, probably even before they killed the online features.
< is going to try out Crash Bandicoot 4.

< watched Inside Out on the telly this evening. < really loves that film. It only came out five years ago, but somehow it makes < feel very nostalgic.

Re: The You Game!
Wise words, most definitely. < really needs to keep using up with <‘s skills and remember terminology for the day that < gets <‘s next job opportunity. < is still bad with interviewing and isn’t very good with resume building/fixing so < should start going back to that career center if it’s open...PluMGMK wrote: Wed Sep 30, 2020 8:01 pm Sometimes it can be good to go back through the basics though.
