< managed to miss that too. :mefiant:

< sees that AMD are making the 6900XT which will be priced at $1000, and it's competing against Nvidia's RTX 3090, which will cost $1500. Both are pretty expensive, but interestingly the 6900XT keeps up with it while costing that much less, at least for games that is.

< has been playing Rayman Junior volume 3 this afternoon/evening. < actually found it intellectually stimulating, even though < was playing it when < was 6 or 7 or something. :fou: < was a bit surprised that a schwa came up in the phonics level (/ə/ as in "America") – < can't imagine 6/7-year-old self understanding that, so < probably got it by trial and error back then. :fou: < found Copter Candy quite tedious – probably because of bad memories of that level in Rayman Redemption where you have to bring all the keys to the end without dying if you want to get all the cages. < also noticed that they arbitrarily switched between different styles of the lowercase letter A in the Alphabetical Order level. :?

EDIT: < doesn't know if this qualifies as cheating, but < was using the EXE from Volume 1, so < didn't have to deal with the ridiculously exaggerated hitboxes that are normally present in Volume 3. :P

< never actually played Junior, though < was considering it at one stage.

< is trying to fix portage conflicts in Gentoo since < hasn't used it in a while.

< always loved the additions to Rayman Junior such as the thorny lianas and the tiny notes.

< should try it some day if < can find a copy of it. < is starting to feel old, < wonders how bad hangovers will start being when < is over 30.

< remembered that today was Leonard Cohen's fourth anniversary (since he died around the last US Presidential Election), but had forgotten that it was also Micheál Ó Súilleabháin's second anniversary until < heard it on the radio. < isn't sure that < had realized before this that they shared an anniversary…

< remembers it started getting worse around the age of 20, and it continued up until maybe 25, but it's been pretty much the same since and 30 doesn't seem to have changed much. It probably depends on the person though.

< can say that < has a bad one today anyway. < even threw up last night, that hasn't happened to < in many years.

All of <'s USB ports just decided to stop working for no reason, so < was left with only the (mercifully PS/2) mouse to try to save and close gracefully. Obviously, they came back after a hard reset, but it's a bit worrying… :paranormal:

< thinks that sounds really weird. < does know that for some reason, <'s Xbox One controller won't work in the front USB2.0 ports, but it will in the 3.0 port. It's pretty odd for all of the USBs to just completely stop functioning though, < wonders if it was a short circuit since that would likely trigger a protection feature. The issue is that would mean something is broken...

< is suspecting that it may have been a short, since < had <'s phone plugged in to charge, and the connector on it has become a bit dodgy recently…

< supposes it was probably something like this then, at least they trip out instead of literally damaging the motherboard though.

< kind of just set it to that randomly, and yes, Father Jack was part of the inspiration. :P

< was reminded by ^ now about how < never finished hosting that video game quiz, though < isn't sure it's getting much attention. < should still try to continue it though.
