But really, the very fact this community is so alive after all this time is just amazing!
< thinks that's what < likes the most about this place: it has so much history that there's always old timers popping by every now and then, sharing memories of their time on the forum and, more often than not, expressing surprise at the fact that the place is still alive and that they even recognize some of the usernames.

< needs to buy a new headset at some stage because < raged and smashed <'s old one off the floor.

^ reminds < of the first few days when < started using a wireless headset for conference calls instead of just using <'s laptop's microphone/speaker. At least with the laptop, < could walk away if the conversation descended into the ridiculous, but with the headset < was afraid < might be enraged into yanking it off and hurling it out the window!

<'s final piece of uni coursework before <'s diss is to make a web crawler in python. Very loose learning resources from the module so < is having to work it out by <'sself, but < is finding it very satisfying watching it tick away collecting data like some rouge AI. What happens if it stumbles off this test domain and into some dark hidden corner of the internet filled with government secrets...
Also < has to make an inverted index of a website which has a page for every country in the world (plus dealing with duplicates) and the crawl delay is 5 seconds. < will have to leave it running for hours!

Haha. < should really invest in a wireless one at some stage. < is still using a wired one, and interestingly there's a feedback loop when < is playing audio. It's not extremely loud, but it's enough that people in VCs can hear what I'm listening to.

< on the other hand is really happy with <'s wired gaming headset, which < also uses for listening to music in general.
< only has a wireless one for <'s work laptop. < got it delivered to <'s house by disgruntled colleagues sick of hearing <'s keyboard banging during meetings

So the wireless one is actually company property

< has a slight irrational distrust of wireless devices that don't strictly need to be wireless... < also thinks < would probably lose a lot more stuff if it wasn't physically tethered to <'s laptop/phone

< is the same ever since < learned touch typing. Everyone always says <'s typing like a crazy eejit when <'s in a VC with them.

Hmm, < <self noticed recently that < actually types pretty fast too haha. I mean, < knows <'s WPM has significantly improved as of late, but in the actual typing aspect of things, < never noticed how fast < types. Even typing this, <'s hands are going really fast

< recently got around 100–110WPM on a typing test.

< used to be proud of <'s typing abilities but for a while now < has noticed very lacklustre performance. < often slurs <'s hands over the keys and sometimes the message is borderline illegible. < blames the uber-flat keyboard < has on <'s laptop and the fact that < hardly uses the PC anymore. The number of typos < had to fix in this very post is embarrassing...
< has 10 days before <'s dissertation is in, and < has only written 10 out of 40 pages! <'s had all year to work on it but < has a habit of leaving things to the last minute, this time it seems in a rather extreme manner. < isn't worried though, < finds the topic interesting enough that < should be able to crack down and blaze through it. Or so < is hoping!

< isn't even sure what <'s wpm is. < happens to type like a lunatic at times, but then sometimes < will stall on something or make a mistake and spam the crap out of backspace.

< does the same thing
Honestly, <’s amazed to see the similarities between us! Haha.

< finds it interesting yeah. < also doesn't really have an exercise for practicing typing, < just does it a lot lately, so < always gets faster.

< always has a ridiculous sleep schedule, but even when < fixes it, < tends to mess it up again slowly over time, until it becomes even worse than it was in the first place. < also needs to be up in about 7 hours, and be at the place < is going to in about 8.
< kind of dreads it since it's a funeral, < finds them difficult. It's for <'s aunt, but < hadn't bothered to mention it prior to now, since last time < had a loss and mentioned it, someone tried to say that < was playing victim on social media.
