they injected < with an IV
<’s not sure < understands
Hmmm out of curiosity, was there ever a time when ^ didn't hate being pricked by a needle?
Oh < was a real wimp when < was a child!

On a sidenote, < forgot to mention in <'s wisdom teeth story that the surgeons sprayed <'s hand with some cold spray that numbed <'s hand so < didn't feel when it went in.
< says it could’ve been lidocaine.
---
On a side note, < was being sarcastic because you don’t just “inject someone with an IV” and call it a day
An IV isn’t a medication, it’s a type of injection route, or it can also refer to an IV catheter. It means “intravenous”, i.e. into a vein.

< reckons Jonster's sentence was valid, since "with" can refer to the tool/instrument used for the injection, in this case an IV
< thought the tool itself was referred to as an “IV catheter”/cannula?
At least that’s what the packaging says:
In case anyone wonders, < has it just to creep people out with that huge needle. >:D

< says Fifo is probably right and that < didn't actually specify what < was injected with, but mistakenly stated instead what was inserted into <'s hand.
Lemme rephrase <'s earlier statement then: < was sprayed with some anaesthesia on <'s hand, then < was injected with a sedative administered through an IV catheter. Makes more sense, no?

< wonders where ^ got that from? Is it a picture?
Haha, I knew you’d ask!
< ordered it from a medical supply store. < couldn’t resist the urge to freak people out with that thick 14-gauge needle

Ah, that makes more sense!
Don’t take this personally, but < feels that the emphasis was unnecessary and a little patronizing. But it may be just <.

It was mainly for < to make sure < didn't sound stupid since < used the incorrect term in the first place. So yes, what ^ said is understandable, though < still got <'s point across regardless.
.....
And, it's curious that ^ mentions that. If ^ were to ask <'s sister or cousin, they would tell ^ that < has a habit of speaking in a condescending manner towards people (commonly waitstaff and fast food workers), even though < believes it's unintentional. <'s been trying to trend away from this attitude for awhile now but it still comes out accidentally at times.

That explains it! < was just curious about the reasoning behind it.
< knows < can act condescending at times without even realizing it at all.
< had a metal filling fall out of <'s tooth while eating a sandwich. < didn't know what was happening at first, and assumed it was some broken glass or something, then < realised that it couldn't have been on the sandwich, as < would have seen it while making it. < had realised it was metal, and only then < thought "oh maybe it's a filling", which it was. < now has a hole in 's tooth and it's even sensitive to air or liquid, so < has to try eat on one side until < can see a dentist.
< says thanks. < isn't going back to Ireland for 2 months though, so < isn't entirely sure what to do. < would be covered over there, but over in Sweden it would be extremely expensive for < to be seen by a dentist...

Oh shoot, that ain't good! < was hearing about "Prosecco teeth" on the radio yesterday…
< has had this filling probably since < was a teen, and the tooth itself isn't in the greatest of shape (it's kind of C-shaped, pun unintended ). < will figure out what they can do when < is in Ireland. Until then, < just hopes it doesn't get infected. The whole "Prosecco teeth" thing doesn't sound good either...
< thinks ^'s method of shifting to one side is a good idea. < had to do it for a time when <'s teeth on the lower left side were sensitive.

That sounds bad! Although looking up the first result from searching, < sees that Prosecco is about as high a risk for tooth damage as coke. While < doesn't drink alcohol on a regular basis, < DID used to drink a lot of soda in the past and < still drinks it today (just not nearly as much as < used to).

< is glad that it worked for ^. < thinks it has been working pretty well for < also. < did manage to eat on the wrong side accidentally a few times, but now harm was done. Overall it's mostly just sensitive to cold.

< has been smoking less and less over the last couple years. < always enjoys a few in a social setting, but less than before.
< reckons it's more dangerous in some ways and less dangerous in others. < was with a bunch of lads all trying one guy's vape at the last office Christmas party. < refrained though, < doesn't want to risk trying nicotine when it's so addictive…
On a similar note, < came very close to losing their composure today, and had to walk around the building for a few minutes. < thought it was ironic that if < smoked then it would be much less strange for < to do that. < reckons smoking would have calmed < down too, but you know…
< can't believe this thread went unposted in for over a month…
