It's just cool stuff. Liquid metal! < used to have a game called Mercury Meltdown which < was obsessed with, in which you direct a globule of mercury around an obstacle course by tilting the level. That probably fuelled <'s obsession.

< finds it amusing that we were discussing governance and resignations in the Glade during Record Day, and meanwhile the day before, Patrick Freyne
had written about governance under the Jedis in one of his delicious TV reviews!

And it has the added bonus of being non-toxic.
"Daad, it says non-toxic!" "Well, that's a plus!"
< finds gallium frustrating because in theory it's a better fit than boron to p-dope a silicon wafer (in terms of atom size) but the low melting point translates into a high diffusivity, making it useless

< thinks it’s unusual to see Ambi without the mini-Jane rank. But the idea of being able to hold a liquid metal in one’s hand is really cool.
< is mystified at ^^’s knowledge, as usual.

< thinks ceramics are the future of semiconductors as they're slowly proven to be more efficient for different applications. Perovskite solar cells, for example, are surprisingly efficient, but unfortunately they're not that resistant. < thinks that's some interesting work to do.
