< also wishes everyone had a great Thanksgiving day (well those who celebrated it anyways)

< has started doing some testing with OBS and Bandicam so < can record something before the 30th, when < has to begin to prepare the new challenge. Now < is just wondering if < can remember how to remap the keys in Rayman 2? < could use an emulator, but since it's the first challenge in awhile < wants to do it with a game < actually owns. :D

< thinks that maybe we should get back to organizing RPC IRL meets in the future. We've only really done it in France in the past, though a lot of members across the globe have met each other as part of their private plans!

< thinks this would be interesting, < is sure a lot of people would be pretty chill irl. The only person < met irl from the community so far has been <'s girlfriend, which < doesn't regret at all.

As for the mention of Apple products, < is in agreement with both the touchpad and build quality, despite not being too fond of them due to their "premium" price and preferring how Android is more open than iOS. < has had many laptops with broken hinges or just generally bad build quality, and < doesn't even want to get started on how bad some of the touchpads have been. <'s Legion may not have the best touchpad, but <'s old Envy had the absolute worst touchpad that < has ever used!

< had a good Thankgsgiving overall, but < is saddened by the fact that some good family friends are going through hardships right now.

The couple that's family friends are over 60 years old, and unfortunately the wife has been battling liver failures for a long time, and things just didn't go as they should have at the specialty hospital. They basically sent her home on hospice this week with only days to live. It's really sad to see this happen and the effects it'll have on their family and friends.

<'s parents cooked them a meal and took it to them earlier today.

< also agrees regarding the touchpad thing. <'s had some laptops with the worst touchpads ever, but < does feel the ones Apple uses have been nice. Though < is fine with the one on <'s Asus Zenbook.

< says that’s very saddening, <‘s condolences. They most likely sent her home in order for her to spend her last days surrounded by wonderful friends and family rather than being confined to a hospital bed. :pensive:

On a lighter note, <‘s sister’s flight just landed, but < arrived much earlier than expected (15 minutes early). < can’t wait to see what she brought home.

< is sorry to hear about the news ^^ has shared. < gives their condolences and hopes everyone will be able to get through this together.

< bought a few things in a store today. Among those things, was a pair of headphones, or so what were supposed to be a pair of headphones. < got home on the bus, and just to mention, there are a few inches of snow on the ground, the place is full of ice, and it's -7°C outside.

When < got in, < changed the key caps on <'s keyboard (< had bought those too), then afterwards decided to have a look at the headphones. < moved the page that was taped to it describing the price and sale out of the way, which revealed beneath, a label with the old store name "Media Markt" on it. < decided to read what it said. It was written in Swedish, but it roughly translated to "I am an empty box". I laughed and said to my girlfriend "imagine it was an empty box haha", then we opened it and there are literally no headphones in it! :mefiant:

Needless to say, < and <'s girlfriend are going back to the shop in the morning to get either a pair of headphones or our money back. How could they make such a stupid mistake in the store to sell us an empty box!

Oh no, what an unfortunate mistake. < hopes that ^ can get that compensation, < says it would be highly annoying to be ripped off like that. < is mystified at the fact that the store was selling an empty box like that at all, you’d think they would mark it as a display item or something. :mefiant:

< says that < got them replaced. The person who worked there laughed and joked "do we believe them?" then said" just kidding, the message that says I am an empty box is the best proof you could have" while laughing. They found the whole thing amusing and then got us to go get a box which still had the security seal, and I'm wearing the headphones now.

Hoodoo (my gf) and I joked about it yesterday, saying "wow these headphones are so comfortable, it feels like I'm not even wearing any at all".

So < was attempting to record a video on OBS for COTM, when something very amusing happened. Aside from the video obviously not looking at all right, < somehow ends up getting killed at 2:47 in one of the weirdest ways. < honestly wanted to add a caption that said 'fuck'

She passed away last night, which is sad news for their whole family. :(

So that's the update < got this morning mom <'s mom. < is saddened by this for sure. The lady that passed away was so bubbly and positive, she could tumble down a hill and laugh it off. It's always sad to see such a good person go, but it is the unfortunate way of life.

< knows OBS can be finicky at times. < often would have to switch back and forth between monitor and no monitor on audio for Discord to see it again when < streams something from <'s capture cards. Even the one < uses for VGA capture.

< is sorry to hear this and gives their condolences. < thinks it's a shame when good people have to go like this. < lost <'s grandmother almost two years ago and she was always so nice to <, opting to help out when < needed anything (always offering to give / lend money etc.), and they just appreciated all the little things < did for them. < can relate that it's extra saddening to see someone go when they were always so nice, and it's unfortunate that it's the way of life because you wish people like that nothing but good fortune.

< Says she was 65 years old. It's sad indeed, but < will plan on attending the memorial being held this Saturday. < Says those family friends have done a lot of <'s family and < wants to be supportive.

In other news, the weather turned colder. < needed to defrost the windows on <'s car this morning. It was below freezing, but < still walked out to the car with a t-shirt to simply get it going.
