< is popping by to say hello and Merry Christmas to everyone
Such a pleasant surprise to see so much activity here in 2023 - much better than previous years unless I'm misremembering.
< is also very glad about this, let's hope for a an even better 2024 now! Merry Christmas and happy new year.

< thinks it's nice that ^ still broke 100k on LOTLD even just on a casual playthrough.
< thought the same, that's certainly not <'s idea of a casual playthrough!

< is now home from the lake house, and < really was missing <'s cats.
Now maybe < can finally catch back on some proper sleep around here too.

< had originally posted a New Year's resolution here, but < thought it would be better to move it to
the new year thread.
___
<'s flu is finally starting to subside, though < is still stuffy. The fever and chills are thankfully passing though.
Unfortunately, <'s girlfriend may be coming down with something now. < is hoping it's not the flu that < had.

< can't help feeling really apprehensive about the year ahead…
< noticed that < has the last post in the Half-Life thread:

Well, I guess… There's gonna be an SDK update soon… But "soon" for things like that often turns into "never"
< doesn't know if it has materialized yet…
Anyway, < finally decided to try out the improved Half-Life this evening. The first time < started it < used the native Linux version, and the mouse input was screwed up so Gordon kept looking down. Then < tried using the Windows version via Steam Play, and it decided to play music from the CD instead of using MP3s, despite being the Steam version! < had a Rayman Gold CD in the drive so < heard the Skops boss theme play on the Black Mesa Inbound train!

The third time, < went back to the Linux version and disabled "raw mouse input" in the options, and now it works perfectly

Yeah < says that’s what it does if you have a CD in the drive

< thinks it seems funny to have Rayman music play like that while playing a completely different game.

< always gets 100k points there because the level doesn't require complicated/obscure combos

.....
< drank
too much plum juice and went to bed at 8:00 after New Year's party. < isn't specially old, but < noticed < could handle those kind of parties better when < was 18

< can relate to that, where < used to be able to drink a lot and then just get up the next day and get on with it. Nowadays if < ever has a fair amount of drinks, < really doesn't have the head for dealing with the next day anymore.
For that reason, < doesn't really drink that often these days, and < kind of just has a casual beer while watching TV most times < does. < will of course still have a few whenever < meets up with <'s family and friends back in Ireland, but that's more traditional hehe.

that with all the new updates

<‘s probably the one person around here who didn’t start drinking til < was 21.
< had around 5-7 drinks during <‘s party but < was alright the next day. In fact < got up early!

< made the mistake though of drinking seltzer water without eating anything and felt weird until < had lunch 30 minutes later. < has no idea how people drinks that stuff.

< will have to try that out for the fun of it sometime. Was it the OG version, the Source version, or both that do it?

<'s husband loves to drink that stuff and < will never understand it either.

< has tried it before too, and < tells him all the time that his seltzer water tastes like somebody made Sprite or 7up with all the fizziness still, but without the sweet stuff in it.

Definitely not for <!

The OG version on Steam, despite all its new updates. < would be very surprised if the Source version (

) did that…

< doesn't mind having a casual drink, and a lot of people hsve tradition for it. Of course, it's also fine if people choose not to drink alcohol because it's completely optional. < personally doesn't mind what others decide to do so long as it isn't affecting other people.

< Will get more done for more of the artwork that < does have eventually, at least it's quite easy to get these done.
