< says you don't have to mute it, just don't click on it, and then "Mark all as unread" when you've read everything else. It's a bit of a cumbersome workaround, but it works…

< doesn’t know if this would work < but maybe unsubscribing/ stop watching a topic would prevent any more notifications. But in the first place, < wonders if replying on a topic would automatically mark the thread as “watched”

Wait what? < has never had that as the default on any forum < has joined. Surely that's a setting you have to enable?

< isn’t really sure how it works. < was merely looking around for an answer to Edge’s question and thought the subscriptions tab in the profile might be helpful for this.

< assumed Edge was referring to unread messages on the forum, but if he's actually subscribed to all those topics and is getting notifications, then that makes more sense. In that case, all he has to do is unsubscribe from the thread, and turn off whatever setting automatically subscribes him to every thread he posts in

From this < infers that WP is also subscribed to every thread he's posted in. < wonders when that became the default because that just feels really dumb to me
EDIT: To clarify < means the phpBB default is "dumb", < is not saying WP is "dumb"

< is automatically notified when a reply is posted, and < doesn't care for getting tons of notifications so its fine, but < just wishes it was longer to access all of the notifications straight from the drop-down menu and not the actual notification list thingy
^ mentions subscribed threads and that's possibly the problem, but again < doesn't mind it at all

< left because on the 23rd < was angry and felt like < was gonna snap at someone on here so < was mature and decide to take a break for a day, and think about it < is back to normal, and will take another break if < feels angry again!
