Re: The You Game!
To be fair, <'s not arguing in favour of the PS3 specifically, but more in the case that the generation that both of those consoles came from isn't quite as ubiquitous with PC and more recent generations as you might think. It wasn't until the PS4/Xbone generation where we started to see that convergence come into play more proper in <'s opinion.

Re: The You Game!
Actually, < is also curious about this Pokemon test as well, though < has no expectations of doing amazingly well.
Re: The You Game!
< has too many PS3's, but they just sit collecting dust.
< always preferred the Xbox 360 in that era. Going back to the previous gen, as much as < loved the original Xbox, the PS2 was definitely the king at the time despite being weaker and harder to program for. < does also have a PS5 which well take a guess, collects dust.
< just hasn't been in the mood to play them lately. < also has the Xbox Series X which < also prefers over PS5. < would most likely use the PS5 for anything exclusive. < still hasn't even used the Xbox in a couple months either though.

< just read back over the last page. < suggests people be sensible with their "opinions" rather than flat out bashing things and taking swings at the "opinions" of others. You are allowed to dislike things, but keep it sensible.

You really want the same? Knock yourselves out, but you're going to have to guess their names in french! The Jonster wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 12:10 am Actually, < is also curious about this Pokemon test as well, though < has no expectations of doing amazingly well.![]()
Otherwise, < suggests you take the english one. EDIT : oh, it turns out you can type names in french or german and it counts. Neat! I just did it again, limiting myself to 60 minutes, and got to exactly 500.
Otherwise otherwise, < suggests you rate this Spectrum (name in french to not give you a hint once you take the test. That's cheating!) < drew it on stream and is pretty happy with it, but < does not know whether the drawing is better with or without pupils.
Re: The You Game!
< had actually seen before that the Pokémon have different names in French and apparently German too, but not in most other EU languages (they just use English names). < found this interesting.

Re: The You Game!
< gave the English one a shot, set it for an hour's length, and managed about 232. < says about because < did use the spelling aid since < couldn't remember some exact spellings, but it did give away some as a consequence:
It's interesting cause < could visualise many Pokemon in <'s head, but couldn't put a name to them. <'s particularly ashamed < forgot the name of Mimikyu, as < loves that little critter moreso than Pikachu.
< is also mightily impressed by Pirez's drawings.

Re: The You Game!
< knows Mimikyu and thinks this one is interesting. < really doesn't know a lot of the newer ones though as far as < knows. < would probably get everything from the original lineup though as < used to watch it a lot back then and play the games as < mentioned. < did know a fair few of them from the next gen up where Totodile came in also, but mostly from playing Gold.

Re: The You Game!
Now < finds it interesting as <'s peak Pokemon period was Gens 4 and 5. < got back into it for Gens 7 and 9 but those gens clearly haven't left quite as much of an impression on <. What fascinates < is that < would've thought that would translate to < getting more of the Johto, Sinnoh and Unova Pokemon, and yet it seems looking at <'s results:Steo wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 1:36 am < knows Mimikyu and thinks this one is interesting. < really doesn't know a lot of the newer ones though as far as < knows. < would probably get everything from the original lineup though as < used to watch it a lot back then and play the games as < mentioned. < did know a fair few of them from the next gen up where Totodile came in also, but mostly from playing Gold.
< got 47.7% of Kanto, 31% of Johto, 24.4% of Hoenn, 46.7% of Sinnoh and 14.1% of Unova.
<'s not gonna bother with the later gens cause Kalos <'s never played and <'s already commented on <'s surprising lack of memory for Gens 7, 8 and 9. < wonders if < remembers more of the earlier gens simply because those Pokemon have existed for longer and they tend to reappear in newer media which reinforces them in <'s memory. Compared to newer Pokemon which haven't had the same time to really establish themselves.
Re: The You Game!
< thinks that's possible, like for example everyone in the world knows who Pikachu is even if they never touched gen 1. < also knows on the Switch games that < played, a lot of gen 1 and gen 2 even showed up again in them.

Re: The You Game!
Quite so, it's always been a mix between having new Pokemon each gen and having some older ones also appear, the only exception < can think of is the original Black and White games, they were solely Unova Pokemon until you beat the Elite 4 if < remembers right, since you don't get National Dex until after that.
< suspects that's why < could name some of the Pokemon from Hoenn and Kalos, even though < doesn't have quite the same history with them. < is mildly embarassed < forgot Corviknight considering it's the Crow from the UK based Pokemon game xD.

Re: The You Game!
< is curious what “Paldea Expeditions” means. Perhaps DLC?
Hmmm, out of all the gens, < would say 7 and Hisui (which < thinks is 8 ) is where < would have the least amount of knowledge.
Re: The You Game!
It's a drawing tablet indeed : a Wacom Cintiq 16. < also convinced <'s brother to get one.WPTheModder wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 2:53 am < wonders what ^ uses to draw, since < is also very impressed! Does ^ use a drawing tablet or something of the sorts?
< initially bought it to illustrate a video on a book vs movie review of a beloved french movie. That was replacement for the fact that < wanted remake scenes according to the book but < didn't have any actors available (on the grounds that too few people are interested about <'s videos)

Re: The You Game!
< isn't too sure, <'s only played the base Violet game, not any DLC so < can't say with confidence, but < doesn't recall seeing that in base game so DLC seems a fair assumption. The Jonster wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 5:04 am < is curious what “Paldea Expeditions” means. Perhaps DLC?

And yeah Hisui is Legends Arceus which is part of the SwSh/BDSP generation 8.
Re: The You Game!
< missed that conversation, but Paldea expansion involve Pokémon and paradox Pokémon introduced in the two DLCs, like Ogerpon and Terapagos.

Re: The You Game!
At some point < would like to play those, not cause < thinks they'll be spectacular (the quality of Pokemon games has really nosedived in the Switch era sadly), but < did hear there's some Unova nostalgia which <'s always onboard for.
