Eh, < wouldn't class the age of a town to be linked to how cycle-friendly it is. There are a lot of old towns and cities here, and < would reckon only some of them would be considered cyclist-friendly. And even then, there's still a lot of hostility between cyclists and drivers.

since < is a biker (< rides bikes a lot and is part of a biker group) < can confirm drivers get pissed at us for some of the dumbest reasons sometimes!
< got yelled at for trying to park <'s bike at a restaurants parking... for the bikes???

Hmm, so when ^'s saying ^'s been pressured to drive, would this be without a provisional license? < isn't sure how it works in other countries, but would ^ be allowed to drive on public roads without a provisional license, or is the intent to learn on private roads?
The intent is to learn in a large parking lot. Apparently, if < does something bad, the cops can pull us over and if < hasn't read it yet, < will get in trouble?

Although <'s not sure how that works... sounds like a buncha baloney anyway

but there are a lot of places where car-centric transportation has been the basis of urban design, which puts anyone without a car at a major disadvantage.
That's exactly how it is here, yeah

< hates how the world is aggressive to those who don't have much. I mean, just look at anti-homeless structures. It's really sad to see.

Hmm, so this may be a cultural difference, but from <'s personal definition < equates cyclist to those who ride a bicycle), as opposed to a biker, which < equates to riding a motorbike.
So when ^^ says biker...does ^^ mean ^^ rides a motorbike/motorcycle, or a bicycle?
EDIT: Ninja'd. Prev response was for EdgeRabbit.

So long as the car park is privately owned, < knows that there a lot of privately owned car parks around, then ^ should be fine. Provided the private owners are ok with unlicensed drivers mucking about (though lets be real, chances are they don't particularly care too much).

Ah yeah, the rise of hostile architecture is a saddening development.

Huh, so ^ rides with folks who ride on motorbikes? Tbf, < isn't sure if the distinction exists where ^'s from, <'s just trying to make sure < understands what ^ means.

Ahhh, if only < could get things done without having to drive at all. Despite how much < talks about driving, < doesn't like driving around as much these days. A few days ago < made the mistake of accidentally driving over a curb really fast and blowing a tire out. Spent over 2 hours changing the tire. In the darkness of night. And < had to call <'s dad to help < because some car was watching < for at least 30 minutes which made < nervous. So ofc <'s dad was really pissed at <. And then the car had to go to the shop the next day.

A booger dried up around <'s nosehair and it was bothersome, so < had to yank it up by force, with made < sneeze really hard eight times and now it bleeds.
Oh, the lovely month of April...

Ouch!

Well, at least it failed fast. <'s had similar incidents throw off the wheel alignment so < can drive along for months and then discover that one of the tyres is down to the wire. So then < not only has to get the tracking fixed, but also get rid of what would otherwise have been a perfectly good tyre!

Of course, sometimes it's kerbs, but other times it's hitting a pothole at 80 km/h – another reason < is kinda glad that they've reduced the limit to 60 km/h on the smaller roads

< feels like he said a lot of dumb stuff/overshared to a friend, but < doesn't care and found it actually freeing.
< used to tell his old friends everything, but now that they're gone... < can't say anything! Not that they even listened, but it was good to get it out to someone

< just realized that < is so low functioning that < can barely form <‘s own opinions. < just does what everyone does, and < feels like < can’t make any choices because < will upset someone. But < feels like < doesn’t have control over <‘s own mind.
