Why is this bouncing eye thing a rank. I understand the others, because they are characters, foes and game objects, but the eyes are just a background thing. Why not use spiders instead because they appear in more than one game and are danger creatures.

Well, the eyes are kinda enemies.

Indeed, and they're pretty puny, which befits their placement on the ranklist, Spiders are much more annoying.

I think I'm gonna have to be honest now, and actually say my opinion on some of the ranks now that I'm getting further into them. In my opinion levels 30 to 40 have really weak undesirable ranks. The rest are great, but this huge proportion really is weak. They don't even look that nice. The classic Rayman zone ones are flawless, I really think we should probably cut those 10 ranks, or at least replace them with maybe custom ranks. I really don't want to move on from the rank I'm on at the moment, because it's the last decent one before we get to that patch of the next 10 pretty naff ranks. I know I can reduce my tings and keep at whatever rank I want, but I just think there's no need for such a big gap. I don't know how others feel about this. But avatar wise, those 10 levels are very unappealing to me. It's hardly an incentive to level up.

Hmm, on the enemies side, they don't seem to be so bad, there's all the big bosses there. Though on the goodies side, I can sortof see what you mean.

Haha, I'm glad you can actually see what I mean to a certain extent! Perhaps I'm bias because I haven't played the game they're from. I just don't really think they suit as avatars. The only decent ones in my mind out of the gap I posted are:

Murray (prawn thing with crown)
Moskito
Mr Sax & stone
Skops
and Axel

but even those are pretty mediocre.

And something else which won't go across very well are rank boundaries. I personally think the ting requirements are too high for each rank. They're unrealistic. In fairness, it's true that a lot of you do have very high ranks and lots of tings. But a lot of you have been here for years, through several records days, and through several periods of time when the forum was probably more active.

This place is an active forum, but it's not the sort of place that you can churn out the kind of posts you'd need to to move up the ranks. If you've got 4 years worth of records days under your belt, and you really racked it up then yeah it makes sense. But for new comers, it's not really achievable. I have a pretty decent Rayman 3 score, and I'm still pretty low in the rank-list. I think it's detrimental to the forum to have such high requirements because it encourages members to post A LOT, and that usually leads to 'spam'. I just don't think that this forum today in 2014 can warrant having such high rank boundaries. It's not realistic. Nor achievable. I think the boundaries should be made a lot lower.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but with respect a lot of you have been here a very long time, and it's gonna have been a while since you started from the bottom at this place. I know ranks aren't everything, but they are a fun nostalgic element to this forum. I really just think they should be made more accessible. We're a more casual & relaxed place with great management, so why can't we be a bit more lax in our ranks?

Hmm, it's somewhat ironic, the Ranklist was shaken up in November 2012, I'd only been here for just over a year, I think my ting count was about 40000, but I can't really remember for sure. The idea behind getting more ranks was to accommodate the then large amount of member who'd broken about 100K, which I think was the top rank back then.

I guess time will tell what comes of things, but I'm not really in the mindset to debate stuff at the moment. Suffice to say though that you're free to discuss with others on the matter, and I'd hope they'd respond a little more tastefully, popular idea or not.
