< had a very nice Saturday at work. The only minus is that new coworkers aren't as talkative as in the previous libraries

< went to an arcade <'s never been to before, after eating a ton of great pizza at the restaurant next door to it. < had a great time and won a TON of tickets and a bunch of little prizes. < even dumped a ton of tokens to win a prize for <'s mom and eventually succeeded!

< just realised that the original Xbox console < set up over a week ago is just broken for some reason. < powered it on by accident while trying to do something, then realised it did this thing called FRAG (where it powers itself off and back on twice). < realised the fan isn't even spinning, only the HDD was powering up, and then it wouldn't respond to the front buttons. The drive won't eject, and the power button won't even turn it off again. < is sure there must be bad caps at play, but it's annoying since it was working fine last week or so.

< is convinced that these things just commit suicide if you leave them plugged in. < had a PSU die in one of them around 2020, it just refused to power on or show any sign of life one day after being plugged in for a long time in standby.

< agrees with the suicide theory < left an xbox controller untouched for a few years because < moved to play on keyboard again and after plugging it in again it turned out the LB and RB just died. They somehow worked when < pushed them really hard, but then other buttons started dying down. The analog decided to die when < was about to finish the final boss fight with Kefka in Final Fantasy VI < has never yelled this loud before out of panic ever since

< had pulled more network cable in the office, and got some holes cut in the drywall and terminated for both the computer and phone networking. < still has things to do with that, but now things are better without the ceiling tiles being removed and wires coming down. So it looks better now.

< had to pay a customs fee for an international package (bought from Hollow Press in Italy).
< has bought something from overseas through Walmart, but did't have to pay anything extra.
< was confused.

< Has school starting up again tomorrow, which shockingly... < doesn't really mind! School gives < something to do, which is great, as < really has not much else to do where < lives. Or at least, not much to do without paying. :/

< noticed that carriers add their fees on top of customs duties and import taxes, and for small items, those fees are often much greater than the tax itself. But the most annoying thing that happened to < was when a carrier would not allow for those taxes and fees to be paid online, and instead only took cash payments (or checks, what century do they live in?), meaning < had to be present for the delivery instead of just having the concierge collect it for <. < missed their calls for several days in a row, of course. :fou2: :pascontent:

< had a free day and just now < noticed that she played Pokemon Black for 5 hours and a half without a break. If < didn't have to check the spelling in Master's Thesis then < would play more

< suspects that ^ could just use the PC as a space heater.

It can be effective though!

Tis the season for benchmarking, it seems.

< ought to find a performance intensive game to play for <'s space heater needs.
