While I don't tell everybody that comes up in my way that I like Rayman, I don't feel shame telling people that I do when I am confronted with the question or I get asked what are my favourite videogames. Sadly I got teased twice because of Rayman, once in the 5th grade and other time shortly before joining RPC but it didn't stop me to like the franchise. I also don't think there's any reason to feel embarassed because Rayman's games are for all ages, not just for the younger audience, that has got fantastic worlds, characters and memorable gameplay.

Why in gods earth would you be made fun of for liking that? More importantly how do they know what RPC is?

No, I'm not ashamed in the slightest, I'm proud of the franchises I like, Rayman being my first.

This is the first time in my life I hear that someone was making fun of someone because of Video Game. People who did that must be some really sad children who don't have anything to do with their time and life. Back when I was in School, I admit that almost nobody liked Platformers, but we all respected our opinions and differances.

I admit though, there weren't many at all who actually shared my interest in Rayman, it was only when I joined YouTube and started to get along with the gang there, then subsequently join this place that I became able to wholly share my opinions and talk about the franchise.

I have heard people bash people for liking platforming games or rated 'E' games, but never Rayman in specific.

Rayman is pretty hardcore for E rated game. Expecially Rayman 3.

Rayman 3 had a crap ton of adult jokes in it, it felt like the world of Conker submerged into Rayman... sorta. Freaking phenomenal game nonetheless.
Still doesn't match 1 and 2 though in my opinion.

This is exactly how it works.

Heh, I've seen that picture before. In my Highschool though everyone seems to love Pokemon, Middle school everyone hated it.

I'm a frequent visitor of Awkward Zombie. It's one of the better webcomics around right now, in my opinion.

Yup, that comic Raymanni posted does put it best, though not all of those in my age group have yet shedded the whole "childish condescension."

High School is getting pretty close to college though. Since college in the UK starts a couple years earlier than in America/Canada, there's a bit of a mix here and there.

This was a downfall for me too and it carried over college too (though thankfully the college booted said people out for it). But from then to now, I have a feeling whatever shame I feel I might have is slowly diminishing - it was comforting to know that one of my colleagues was even so much describing Rayman Legends as "that game where you cut ropes with the little frog thing", and this is an FPSr fan we're talking about here.

I can't say anything about college but at least I can ensure that I got teased by my High School classmates when they learnt I still enjoyed Pokémon.

You should have showed them AlphaOmegaSin's channel. He is the voice of all true gamers in my opinion. People need to understand that nobody can become too old for some game.

Didn't some people from Ubisoft call him a flying frog? Almost certainly for jokes though, seeing as he's a Greenbottle.

*Murfy, and he's been described as a flying frog quite often.

Not even Ubisoft can decide whether he's Murfy or Murphy. They keep messing it up.

I believe his original spelling was Murphy (correct me if I am wrong), but I know they also call him sometimes Murfy. Same goes for Dark Rayman. Sometimes he is referred as Bad Rayman, but I prefer Dark Rayman.
