Rayman Pirate-Community

Well, I do always encourage Rayman fanworks and so will I encourage yours,
I really can't say much about this, because, you know, I haven't seen anything!
It was Rayman running through a Portal, that's it.
Now, I would be much more interested if you had actually included some sort of Story in the trailer.
Also, the animation is pretty rough, Mr Dark is animated fine, as to Rayman isn't animated at all.
The sprites aren't consistent. First of all you have Mr Dark from Rayman Advance, then Rayman from Rayman 3, Some sort of strange portal that doesn't fit in there at all and finally there's the Rayman 2 logo.
I don't know if this was like a serious thing, but if it was, I'd suggest you better spend more time in animating, combining stuff, ADDING SOUND!, and finishing.
I hope you won't take this as bullying as well, 'cause this isn't, it's criticism!

That's kind of silly, why would you not master your videos? By master, I'm referring to, once you export your Flash project, import it into Vegas to put on the finishing touches. The purpose of a test is to demonstrate a technical aesthetic of some sort. Given that the majority of your 'test' consisted of Rayman moving into portals, what was the 'test' about? Was it to show off how you're able to make Rayman move from left to right, which in Flash (apparently what you use) simply requires you to move the sprite to the desired location at a spot in the timeline and nothing else? Unless you're ten and brand-new to the concept of animation software, this should not be anything remotely show-worthy or deserving of a public upload, as all of what you've shown in the video could take roughly one, maybe two minutes to accomplish. If the purpose was to show Rayman running why not actually animate him running? This leads me to my next point:

And you're proving out point. Nothing what you've shown or likely had planned to show will make use of what Flash has to offer over other software. Instead of lazily moving someone from A to B with no animation in-between, why not take advantage of the fact that you have Flash and separate Rayman's parts, and animate him running? It's really not that hard if you have a reference as to what running looks like, and it should be even easier considering the fact that you're using sprites that have already been animated for you; all you have to do is drop in the individual frames of the Rayman 3 sprite running, one after the next.

Of course you're not a professional, no one here is. However, the work you have presented is something any uninspired ten-year-old could have accomplished, and because you clearly hadn't realised this, we're trying to make you realise this by giving fairly harsh criticism. Instead of admitting that you should have put more work into your presentation - note that regardless of the fact that it's a test, you used it as the leading introduction to your series, meaning that it is a presentation of some kind - you decide to not only become offended by our reaction to your work, but snap back at all the critique provided by everyone. Rayfist was the first one to give you detailed critique; nothing he said was mean, and yet you decide to respond like an ungrateful, cheeky bitch.

Sure, we're a nice community, and we're definitely not bullies; bullying behaviour is thoroughly frowned upon. In light of this, why don't you think for a minute about your behaviour, and consider that perhaps you're the one doing something wrong, not the rest of us?



Do you understand why you're acting foolish? People are giving you very harsh critique because your work thus far has been incredibly boon-worthy itself. We'll do whatever it take to make you realise that, because if you don't, you aren't going to ever improve.

It's as if you didn't even READ a single bit of my post... as I said how are we suppose to know it's a test if it isn't even labelled a test? Besides the point, tests can still have critique on it, as it's a test, you're giving us a basic example of your ANIMATING POWERS, in that case, your ANIMATING POWERS are awful, take it or leave it. I use to have a horrid sprite series myself, if you don't believe me check my channel, I learned about how cringe-worthy and awful my sprite animations were, and THIS community helped me with that.

To conclude you're acting really childish and not even wanting to learn to improve, if this is the way you take friendly critique, good fucking luck in the real world my friend.

In reality, only bully is you. Sorry but it is true. Like others said, learn to take criticism, don't act childish, and grow up. As for sprite movie itself, it's bad. To improve it, just do what others told you. It will be much better. Trust me.

If you 'took them well at work', I'm sure that you would be experienced with them. According to your reactions in this thread, it's clear that you are in fact inexperienced with criticism, especially in the face of many people who I agree are being unnecessarily harsh.

You're saying this as a fifteen-year-old; your job is probably unimportant, very sparse and minimum-wage. Besides, who are you to assume the lives of others? What does 'success' imply or mean to you? You don't know what any of us do or don't do for a living, and bringing up your personal life in a conversation like this is entirely, one-hundred percent irrelevant, unless you're trying to excuse something (which you aren't).

Like said before, I do believe many people here are being too aggressive. If you are the person you claim to be however, you should be able to disregard all that and still refrain from making immature responses like this:
