Meh, one would hope Ubi learns from their mistakes, so I'd hope never.

Do you think RL would look different today if Trailer was not leaked?

I don't think that leak would have had anything to do with it, it's more to do with how it works in relation to the fanbase.

Re: Does anyone know anything? (Future Rayman in 3D Platform
I'm not banking on another 3D Rayman for a while. Legends was low budget, and didn't do amazingly sales wise. They'll probably make another 2D one because it's easier. This time though, they should REALLY push the advertising, and release it at a better time (as in, when a blockbuster like GTA V isn't on the horizon).
Re: Does anyone know anything? (Future Rayman in 3D Platform
In my opinion, an ambitious and expansive game as Rayman IV (cancelled prototype) may not have been simply abandoned and it ended there in 2006. According to me in a few years, perhaps on the celebration of 20° years anniversary of Rayman in 2015 you should start to learn something, unfortunately the Platform genre is dead and there is little selling invests over, this is what worries me!
Ancel has made it clear in more than one occasion that if it were up to him Rayman would still be that of a time! That's why I blame for Ubisoft!

It probably wasn't even abandoned so much as it was a failed request. Given that all we have is concept art, Phoenix Interactive probably just drew up some stuff and pitched it to Ubisoft, and they turned it down.Asher wrote:In my opinion, an ambitious and expansive game as Rayman IV (cancelled prototype) may not have been simply abandoned and it ended there in 2006.

UbiSoft was not even developing cancelled R4. They probably turned it down because they wanted to make it themselves. And seeing all these platformers recently, I don't think it can be called dead genre.Asher wrote:In my opinion, an ambitious and expansive game as Rayman IV (cancelled prototype) may not have been simply abandoned and it ended there in 2006. Anyone else still waiting for a squeal to Rayman 3
I know origins and legends came out and i really really like them, but i really want there to be a true squeal to rayman 3 which is in the 3d style and was set after rayman 3 instead of before, remember the evinorments and the chracters, remember that wonderful soundtrack, i wish they would make one more 3d rayman game, i would ask for no more after that, just a true rayman 4 just like murphy said he would see us in, just imagine what they could produce since the last 3d rayman game which is now 10 years old, the graphics would be amazing, tell me your thoughts on a new 3d rayman game and if you agree that they should go back to the 3d style or at least revist it...
Re: 3D Rayman Sequel?

Origins and Legends are actually set after Rayman 3.The Ruptineer wrote:and was set after rayman 3 instead of before
Now I've had enough!
Guys forgive the outburst of the title, but I'm very very annoyed by the latest Rayman's releases! Ubisoft had transformed my/our myth in a non-sense game where everything has to be demential and laughty in a totally absence of style, when Rayman has always been a serious game, deep and also greatly suffered as we will remember with the Rayman 2 TGE masterpiece!
Many will disagree with me, but I have posted this question only to those who want back Rayman to its former glory! How I/we can contact and ask it to Michel Ancel in person and Ubisoft to publish finally Rayman 4 or publish a new game of that caliber and in 3D?!
Answering in many and we see to stop this decay, also with a serious petition!

only Rayman 2 was no nonsense Lexis. R1 was incredibly whimsical and R3, well, R3 has a thread here for pointing out all the adult jokes and utter nonsense that happens within the game.Lexis wrote:Guys forgive the outburst of the title, but I'm very very annoyed by the latest Rayman's releases! rant as we might, we common folk can't just walk up to The Villa and demand a serious hardcore 3D rayman. how it usually happens is somebody with connections stops by RPC and just observes/asks us. also Ancel may not be involved as much in the next rayman anyway, there was an interview about letting his established team handle any future titles while he works on Beyond Good & Evil 2.Lexis wrote:Many will disagree with me, but I have posted this question only to those who want back Rayman to its former glory! Re: 3D Rayman Sequel?
Meh, while my preferences will always lie with the original trilogy, I've no mind to go all fanatical on Origins and Legends.

Some work out, but I think there's plenty of counter examples, like the Ninty Region-Free 'un.

Re: 3D Rayman Sequel?
I've only known rainfall and moonfall to have any influence on devs, and even then Aonuma's been rather shady about what IS going down with Majora's Mask.
