Alright! back on topic then... anyone got any opinions?

I always tend to forget Globox exists. I don't think he needs to have.any place in Rayman at all.

Couldn't they have found a better partner for Rayman? One that has better dialogue and is actually useful?

Hmm, interesting choice. I do think it'd have been nice if Globox grew differently as a character, instead of turning into the brute type. One thing that really disappoints me, is how they never ever expanded on his "Gift." Rayman 2 material made a note about his family's ability to make rain via dancing, it's a major pity that idea never really was expanded on.

The piranhas within rayman 2 and 3 come to mind as meaningless characters, considering how they are more pathetic than slapdash somehow.

With Globox the damage is done and i can live with him, but the piranha's were more... filler, as more of an obstacle than an enemy or character, usually dieing in one hit (one of the many 'characters' i would probably include in my list), if anybody knows any piranha species in the Rayman 'universe' that don't follow this pattern let me know.

I could go with the cliche answers and say the rabbids......But I'll go with a bit more than that.

The small butterflies in the fairy council are meaningless.

The playable Green Teensy from Rayman Origins is meaningless. Why didn't they give us Grand Minimus instead of him?

Ok. Scratch my first answer. I don't hate him a whole lot, but I always forget that Dark Globox is a thing.

Hmm, the issue I have with this thread is what we define as characters, and what we consider as background objects and the like. Popolopoï aren't what I'd consider characters, their role is to bring vibrancy into a world to give it a more life-like feeling, they aren't intended to have any bearing in the plot, they're there solely to enhance the experience by being a small detail.

Well, they do make their return in each Rayman game, so they must be of some importance I guess.
It's hard to decide where to put the border between character and creature I suppose, although I do agree Popolopoï aren't exactly characters.

Tily is an excuse for the animation problems they had with Ly.

This. I also find it ridiculous that they couldn't add more characters from Rayman 2 (like Clark, Ly or Jano), rather than give us characters like Razorwife or Dark Globox. Don't get me wrong I think Razorwife is a really funny character, but they were both unnecessary. Not a big fan of Dark Globox though, I don't like his design at all.

Honestly I would have prefered to see Dark Globox in Rayman M than Tily.

Everyone prefers a rock in Rayman M than Tily.
