I was lucky enough to get a ticket!

I cried my eyes out all day. It was sad.

When Bindi came out on the stage she took it quite camly.

If her father was there in spirit, he would have been proud.

I'm sure he was there, he lives on in all of us who cares about animals, and as long as we remember his name, and all he did for animals across the world, he will not die, because a person doesn't truly die before all about that person is forgotten.

Bindi is his daughter. Everything he was filming and working with at those final moments of his were for her ocean documentary, "Ocean's Deadliest."

Sorry I missed this topic, and I'm not trying to revive it, I'm just putting in my thoughts on this...

It really was saddening when this happened, and it's still upsetting now. I am sure [almost] everyone who watched Irwin will miss him greatly.

Really, I thought he would just die of old age or natural causes....

And now, to defend him from stupidity:
The Knocker wrote:It's good that he's dead... Well.. It's never good when someone dies, but yeah... it's not cool to hunt crocs, even though I don't like them.
This doesn't deserve much of an answer, so: He helped crocodiles.
Don't act like an idiot. Know what you're saying first. -_-

One more "crikey" for Steve Irwin.

Rest in peace.

A friend of mine wrote this.. It even ended up in the newspapers in Norway ^^;
Remember that it wasn't me who wrote it, all the credit and whatever else goes to the one who wrote it ;)

A legend is dead.
Steve Irwin 1962-2006

4. September is a day that many will remember. Because Steve Irwin, known as the Crocodile Hunter, was at that day killed by a stinger ray, a deadly fish. Millions of people loved him for what he did. He was a hero, and one of those who worked the hardest for animal rights in the entire world. Many says that it had to end badly someday, others are shocked of his death.
He started innumerable funds for threatened animal species. He even stopped the idea of shooting crocodiles as a sport in Australia, and that is just one out of many other things he did for the animals.
He got people of all ages to care for the nature, and the creatures which lived in it, he himself has said that he wanted to be remembered as a 'conservationist', one who would protect the nature, and all who lived within it. He will always be remembered for 'cricey!', crocs rule!', and 'conservation'.
He lived for animals, and said that he would die for the animals. He loved life and all that lived.
He said himself that he had been placed on this planet to teach people about dangerous animals, and how we could all live together. He made us open our eyes to see that animals that are disgusting, ugly, or dangerous are just as valuable as any other animal.
He was often on the TV, and many of those who watched him, felt that they knew him as a person, even though they had never met him at all. He will always be an icon, an idol for many.
Now it's up to us, we must carry his work onwards, so that his dream will be fulfilled.

Rest In Peace Steve Irwin.
