First of all, I can tell you've never been to Canada Kelvin11. We speak with the exact same accent as Americans (except Texans, who could use a course in sophistication 101), and the "eh" thing is a pure myth. We do incorperate "eh" once in a while, but not that often. I do agree though that Americans curse more than Canadians, which is a habit you guys should watch. Oh, and Celcius is so much better than Fahrenheit.

Wouldn't it help to have a French-English dictionary at hand? That's what I did when I used to write emails in French a long time ago. Since I left school though it greatly deteriorated for me along with Spanish, but I'm surprised I remember some of it. When I speak it by mouth, that's where it hits rock bottom

Oh, and if you guys want a language that seems to have less vowels than anything, try Welsh. So many y's, d's and w's, and even a W with a ^ on top is a vowel.

I find English an easy language to learn o.o it's my second language, the Norwegian being the first of course.. x3 But that I find it easy might be because everyone learns English at school, from like, the second or third year I think o.o I've had it for practically nine years now? o.o Wah, the old Norse language is worse XD We had about it in class today, it sounds so weird! o___o Some of the words I can recognise, but most is difficult to even guess what it means XD If I have the time to, maybe I'll post a few of the words here tomorrow, so you can see what I mean XD

It's weird o.o trust me. It has four letters that doesn't exist anymore at all, which are these four: (ð ǫ þ œ)
They are pronounced like this:

ð: Th- (Like in words such as These, they, this etc.)

þ: Like the one above, Th-

ǫ: Å, or O-like sound. (The å is a Norwegian letter. One of the three vocals that doesn't exist in the English language. The other two are æ and ø.)

œ: Looks like the letter æ (Norwegian letter) but is pronounced like an ø (Norwegian letter)

And the sentences one can write seems to make no sense XD This is an example from my norwegian book thingy:

Ólafr gaf Haraldi hest. In english, it means Olaf gave Harald a horse.Norwegian: Ólaf gav Harald en hest) see the similarities? o.o

But the strange thing is, with the way that old language was, it could be written this way too:
Haraldi gaf Ólafr hest. And it still means Ólaf gave Harald a horse! o.o It's because of the last letter in their names, the language is based on how the Germans bend their words today, using kasus. The 'r' after Ólaf means that he is the one doing something, he is the subject. The 'i' after Harald means that he is the object, and because of that, their names can be placed in both places in the sentence, and still mean the same thing. Oo It sounds weird to me D:

Here's the beginning from a text in my book, which is written in both norwegian and old norse, there are a few similarities in the words. o.o

Dronning Ragnhilds Drøm. (Norwegian)
Dronning Ragnhild drømte store drømmer. Hun var klok. Slik var en av drømmene hennes at hun syntes hun stod i hagen sin...

Draumr Ragnhildar dróttningar. (Old Norse)
Ragnhildi dróttningu dreymdi drauma stóra. Hun var spok at viti. Sá var einn draumr hennar at hon þóttisk vera stǫdd í grasgarði sínum...

Queen Ragnhilds dream. (English)
Queen Ragnhild was dreamt great dreams. She was wise. Like this was one of her dreams that she seemed to be in her garden...
