Which hoster would you recommend?Hunchman801 wrote:You've downloaded the package, and now you have to extract it. This will create a folder that you can call forum, forums, phpBB, actually whatever you want.
Then you need a web account on which you can upload this folder. What hoster do you use?

Re: PhpBB Help
It depends on what you want. You can use free hosters, which insert ads in your website, or professional hosters, that provide a better hosting and of course no ads.SamBeckett94 wrote:Which hoster would you recommend?
For instance, it costs me money to host PC.

Re: PhpBB Help
I more looking for a website hoster, not just something for a forum. But I might use this for practice.Jman wrote:I have an ok free hoaster. I use http://www.jconserv.net/.
EDIT: I just created a forum, on another host because this one didn't work properly. I'd like to know if I need to download a phpbb client, and how to use themes and currency. Thanks so much.

Re: PhpBB Help
This is not a real hoster, as phpBB is pre-installed, you can't modify it as you wantJman wrote:I have an ok free hoaster. I use http://www.jconserv.net/.
Re: PhpBB Help
But isn't a PhpBB forum already hosted by PhpBB when you make it?

No. If things don't work out, I'll stick with Invision.

Re: PhpBB Help
Well, if you choose a pre-installed forum, whether it's phpBB or Invisionfree, you won't be able to do many things with it, and if one day your forum becomes larger, you won't be able to transfer it to a real hoster
Re: PhpBB Help
I doubt any of my 3 forums will ever get any larger, tbh.

Re: PhpBB Help
I'm using http://www.eamped.com . It's down right now, though, so I can't access it. However, it's unlimited members and posts. I'm good.
Re: PhpBB Help
