The Wii can easely play GameCube games in the standard disc channel. But for NES, SNES, N64, and Sega games you'll have to buy those games in the Wii shop channel. To do that, you have to add Wii points to your system, 1 euro are 100 Wii points.

If you play gamecube games on the wii, how do the controls change?, or do you just use a gamecube controller?

You just have to open a few gates at the top of the system and plug your old gamecube controllers and memory cards in to play. I'm not sure if the Wii's Traditional Controller is compatible for GameCube games though.

It is, but it is better to use GC controller for it.

I'm going to buy a Traditonal Controller next week. GameCube controllers are very bad for virtual console games.

For gamecube games, yes. But try to play a NES or SNES game on such a big controller..
