One time, I used a banana to fix my bicycle. One of the handlebar bits (the bit you hold onto) broke off, so I substituted it with a banana because it fit the slot perfectly.

Why would you fix a bycicle with a banana?

Would you recommend a banana for a handle?

It would have been far more dangerous to ride without that part of the bike. I was on a ride across town, you see, so wasn't in a position to perform a proper repair. I had a banana in my bag, so jokingly tried to attach it and it worked nicely, so I used it. So yeah, I'd recommend it.

Any more questions or shall I take guesses?

I was going to vote true at first because I can imagine someone sticking a banana in an empty bike handle hole for a laugh, but I doubt you could cycle across town using it so that's gotta be a lie.

I've got a question : were you afraid of squishing the banana when using the handle?

Actually no, I even had to put inward pressure on the banana while riding to ensure it remained tight, but its hardness wasn't an issue.
