As of late I've been getting the latest season of BBT on DVD for my birthday every year. There are advantages to being born in December. That is not one of them.

Watched the season 7 finale of Walking Dead. Had some great moments, but didn't wrap up the season well and felt like there was no real payoff to what was a really drawn out season.

Binged Trailer Park Boys season 11 over the weekend and thought it was hilarious - a great return to form.

Also started watching Preacher and I'm really enjoying it so far. Reminds me of Misfits in a way, but a bit more surreal.

Better Call Saul season 3 has been great so far, the opener was a little slow but the following episodes were stellar. Not really feeling the third season of Fargo yet, it's quality TV but I just find that I really don't care about any of the characters yet.

Waiting for the new season of House of Cards later this month and Game of Thrones in summer.

Episode 5 of season 3 was brilliant I find the episodes that focus on Jimmy the best. The Mike stuff is pretty hit and miss for me, as I don't find his character or story nearly as endearing as Jimmy's brotherly feud and his development into Saul Goodman. Saying that however, I feel with the introduction of Gus, Mike's arc should get more interesting for me, as I've really enjoyed the scenes involving Gus so far. It's just the parts with Mike spying with binoculars in a car for half an episode that bore me, but he;s with another major character like Jimmy, or Walt in Breaking Bad, then I enjoy his screentime.

In regards to Fargo, I much preferred the first season to the second, (Martin freeman was awesome) despite the second season having garnered more praise from critics and fans alike. I'll give 3 a chance though, since it will be a fresh set of characters and premise.

Waiting for the new season of House of Cards later this month and Game of Thrones in summer.

I can't wait for season 7 of Game of Thrones. I've re-watched season 6 3 times now in anticipation, and I'm a little obsessed with the franchise at the minute

Agreed. Chuck's breakdown at the end was wonderfully acted. Chuck's such a great love-to-hate character, so I felt very satisfied to see Jimmy get ahead of his brother with that cleverly planted battery. I'm so intrigued to see what will become of Chuck and Kim and how Jimmy will eventually become Saul. I have a feeling something pretty bad will happen to at least one of those characters.
I have to say some of the writing and direction in this show is even better than Breaking Bad, and that's easily in my top 5 shows ever.

How did you find Breaking Bad? (assuming you've seen it, of course)

Yeah, once the series is over I will watch it all the way trough, as some episodes are clearly set up for the episodes that proceeds them and watching them by themselves can be a bit underwhelming at times, despite having well written dialogue and excellent direction.

I agree season 5 and 6 had a couple lackluster aspects compared to the earlier seasons, but I still really enjoyed them overall. I think the show is at its best when its taking place in Westeros, so I agree with you about the charcters coming together, it should be good.

Who are your favourite characters at this point in the show? In terms of the main cast, Jon Snow is my favourite, as I enjoyed watching him develop and come out his shell through the first 5 seasons, finally becoming Lord commander. I also though it was cool how he was resurrected like Jesus, eventually becoming King of the North. I loved watching him in the Battle of the Bastards; he was a total badass in the battle and I loved his stare down with Ramsay, and the final confrontation where he got to pummel the shit out of him.

I think compared to most other shows on TV, Game of Thrones has really well developed and written supporting characters. I really like how they are actually meaningful to the plot and are distinct. My favourites are the Hound, as he's an awesome ant-hero and I'm glad they brought him back. will be interesting to see what he gets up to with the brotherhood in s7. I hope Arya reunites with them. (Glad Arya's back in Westeros, as I felt her arc kinda dipped a bit when she went to Bravos.)

I also really like Benjen Stark, due to the tragic nature of his arc, how he was absent for like 5 seasons, used as a plot device to get Jon killed (I find this kinda funny for some reason) as well as how mysterious he is, now being revealed as half white walker. I'm very curious to see what they do with this character, if they bother to do much at all, as the actor has been confirmed for being in s7, but the extent of his character's role is yet to be seen. I hope he eventually meet Jon again, as they had a close bond in the first season.

Thinking about it, I actually like pretty much all the characters left in the show, other than the sand snakes who are a bit annoying and underdeveloped.

Character-wise he does have to go through some drastic changes though, right now I just can't imagine Jimmy casually suggesting a prison shanking. Something bad just has to happen to him right? I've seen many people predict Chuck's gonna die this season and all the references to his lanterns and the possibility of his house burning down are there for a reason.

I loved Breaking Bad and I agree BCS is at least on par with it. Thinking about giving it a rewatch some time soon, and I have a feeling I'll hate Walter even more now after watching 3 seasons of BCS.

As for the main cast I'm most interested in Jaime's storyline right now. The look he gives Cersei in 6x10 is intriguing. He seems to have finally realized his sister is batshit crazy. Where does he go from there? Arya's a close second, and I really hope her part is written better than it was in seasons 5 and 6. The whole Faceless men plot didn't make much sense to me, why did the Waif even hate her in the first place? Why was Jaqen so happy when Arya killed the Waif? Why was Arya so sloppy (oh hey, let me just enjoy the view for a while on this bridge) when she knew the Waif was out there hunting for her? And then she magically survives a stabbing because an actress feeds her some soup...

There's so much potential for great scenes for Arya in S7 though - reunion with Jon and Sansa (things might not go all that smoothly there if Littlefinger interferes), reunion with the Hound, crossing more names off her list etc.

As for Game of Thrones, I hope the whole season will be interesting, as opposed to the previous ones where stuff only happens in the first and last episodes (well, I think the last one had more content, so I'm mostly referring to the ones before that). As for the plot, well they've reached the part that everyone's been waiting for since the beginning so I guess it can only be interesting.

It would be fittingly ironic if Chuck went out that way, and I don't think Jimmy would be the same - he'll most likely blame himself partially for whatever happens to Chuck. i think he'll also break if anything happens to Kim, since he has so much admiration for her. We've already seen snippets of Jimmy's more reckless side, with him breaking into Chuck's house. Looking forward to see him develop more, and how he will continue to dip his toes in the criminal side of life.

For some reason i always liked Walter, even after all the despicable acts he committed. I enjoyed seeing Huell too - didn't recognize him at first, as he seems to have lost some weight or soemthing, but makes sense that he's starting to show up.

Davos is my overall favourite. Really hope he survives in the end.

Out of all the characters on the show, I'd say he deserves to survive above many others. Alongside Sam too, those 2 always have good intentions behind their actions.
That scene in episode 10 with Davos confrontation Melisandre was pretty heart breaking and powerful . Glad Jon sided with Davos in that one. On a more positive note, i really enjoyed how Davos was the one able to converse and eventually convince Lady Mormont to support Jon's cause. He was close with Princess Shereen, so it was great character moment.

Yeah, I really wanna see Jamie and Bronn abandon Cersei. I feel like she would have Bronn killed due to how close he was to Tyrion, and I think Jamie has too much sense and good in him to condone Cersei's Mad Queen persona. Maybe he will become the Queen slayer? Although, I'd like to see Cersei incinerated by dragonfire
Saying that though, i really enjoy Cersei as a love-to-hate villain. I also love her sidekicks - Qybern and Franken-Mountain, such entertaining characters and I found it satisfying to see them come out on top above the High sparrow and his cronies, despite all the innocents killed. RIP Margery that smirking whore from High Garden.

Agreed. The final segments of Arya in Bravos were pretty stupid. For the other issues, Jaqen seemed to know alot. I think he jduged Arya's character well and knew she would fail his tasks due to her morals and always intended her to face the Waif due to the talent and determination he saw in her, despite her kindness. I also think the Waif was perhaps jealous of the way Jaqen respected Arya. This should have been developed further though, i think this plot had some good aspects, such as the amusing rendition of King's Landing events in the play.

Yeah so many possibilities. I'm really hating Littlefinger at the minute, and that sinisters stare he threw at Sansa in episode 10 mad me feel uneasy. He's defo gonna try and fuck shit up. Hope he dies by the end of s7
I personally wanna see Gendry finally return and meet with Arya again. I thought those 2 has some good chemistry (maybe even a potential love interest?) With all the side characters they brought back in s6, I honestly expected him to return, but I guess 7 could be the right time. He's the last living Baratheon, and he's a revered smith, so he definitely still has potential for the story.

Interesting. What did you like better about it? And yeah, the shows at a great point now. Highly recommend it, although if you can hold off for another month, it might be good idea to wait until the full season is available, as me and Matyuv both agree some episodes setup other, and watching them by themselves is not as good as watching them with the payoff episodes.

The last two season will be shorter (s7 will have 7 episodes, and 8 will have 6) so I'm pretty sure there will be a lot less filler and a lot of cool stuff happening. Especially since season 6 wrapped up alot of subplots, had a lot of characters killed and started to bring all the characters to Westeros, which I'm sure you were referring to. I've defo been anticipating that.

I tried to watch season 10 of the Big Bang Theory, but I just couldn't get through it all. Everything about the characters was different (they call it evolution, but it wasn't for the better). Also the jokes were rarely funny. Very disappointed and I'd imagine seasons 11 and 12 won't be a whole lot better.

Still enjoy the earlier seasons though.

Series 1 - 7 had a total of 13 episodes, Series 8 - 10 have 12. We've had a total of 13 Christmas Specials (The End of Time was a 2 parter), and 3 other specials. We'll be having another Xmas Special for sure this year.

Tallying that up, there are 144 episodes of NuWho. That count does include the current series, and the Xmas Special for this year, if we're going off aired episodes, it's 138 aired.

Though to be fair too, I do believe Big Bang Theory only has 18 ~ 22 minute run time while Doctor Who is generally 45 minutes, so I bet they make up the difference alone, if you compare time...

So say 45 minutes x 144 episodes of NuWho = 6480 minutes.
Then let's say 20 average for BBT... 20 x 231 = 4620 minutes... even if it was 22 minutes each, that'd be 5082 minutes.

So Doctor Who technically gives you much more content... though that is assuming the specials have the same run time as the shows typically do, of course.

Never liked BBT myself, not that I've seen more than a handful of episodes. The jokes just seem incredibly uninspired, as of they were all written by christmas cracker joke authors rather than an actual human being, but then again the LSA seem to have a ball watching it so I suppose it's just not my cup of tea.

I recently re-watched The IT Crowd and it was as hilarious as ever, so it's clearly not just LSA sitcoms I don't find funny.
