No. Who said so?

The question was geared more towards Steo's original post, which made this seem like a much more integral issue then it actually is.
Steo wrote:
What I really hate about today's music is auto tuning. If you can't sing then don't!
But after looking deeper into the conversation, it appears like that wasn't the case.
Steo wrote:autotune isn't so bad in moderation especially in studio recording for pitch altering, but the people that literally can't sing at all and try pass themselves off as brilliant singers, then have people want to grow up to be like their idol is what bothers me really. Sometimes that robotic voice is done on purpose and Daft Punk even use it a lot too, but I don't mind that in some songs.
When people use it to an extent where it's not that noticeable that's cool. I don't expect anyone ever to be able to sing 100% perfect, maybe even 5 to 10 cents off on some notes might not even be so noticeable if even at all but you get what I mean.
Also, I realize that I've never posted anything on the actual topic of this thread, I'll choose past.
A trend that I've noticed with modern music is the overreliance on synthetic scores, it was obvious that the evolution of computer technology would lead to this, and for the most part they are used effectively to the point now where synth has the ability to mimic real instruments, but I personally have always preferred the outcome of creating music with real instruments.

Oh yeah that's another one. I definitely prefer real instruments though again there are some songs I like that don't use them either.
I'd just like to point out also looking back, that when I said bad things about some of the new music, there are some older songs I do and don't like too. I did vote for both and there are a lot of older songs I like, but I like some new music too.
Everyone likes different music, some people just can't stand certain genres which is normal, so when I voice my opinion on music, I have to just remember that the ones I don't like aren't bad, I just don't personally like them
My point is that my post does look harsh looking back and I respect peoples decisions to like music I don't like, instead of calling what I don't like crap, that stuff I call crap sounds amazing to another persons ears.
Besides if I complain about the new music I'm just going to sound like my parents

As long as I find music that I like, I'm happy. That's why I chose ____

Mostly old hits for me. Unless it’s an old band making a new song, then I’ll like it.

I voted "past" before but I think I'll change to "both", since on one of my last days at work I spent half the morning listening to a playlist of CMAT songs

Actually, speaking of which, I do enjoy modern music. In fact, sometimes I don’t even realise it’s modern and just assume it’s 90s Britpop

Same, I think there are some good ones in the modern day and age, but they're very sparce for me, most music that I find on the radio is just trashy/not memorable enough for me (I'm not that big on ___).
This hasn’t changed for me in the slightest. I’ll hear a new tune every now and then that I’ll like but I’m mostly going to go for an older song. This is actually true with my video game tracks as well. Even if there are remixes of older tunes, I usually will go for the tunes that I can jam to for awhile. Which usually ends up being the original tracks. Not that I think all remixes or today’s music is bad either

Isn’t your favourite musician Bruno Mars though?

Bruno Mars isn't a name I've heard since the early 2010s. By my standards he's not someone I'd consider contemporary.

I don’t like the guy either. I don’t really buy people like him. Another thing I’m not very fond of is modern rap.

I ticked both in this poll because sure there's a lot of great old music, sure most current chart music sucks, but I'm always excited to hear new music from my favourites, Yesterwynde from Nightwish being an example of how really pumped I got.

My playlist goes from 1992 to 2025, but all the bands were formed before 2000 so it counts as old music.

OK I know this was an RD post, but does Goop seriously not have any 80s music in his playlist?

Seriously! Though there is some 80s music I like, it hasn’t found its way to my 117-Song workout list.
Also if you were wondering, the 1992 and 2025 albums that have songs featured are;
1992: Rage Against The Machine S/T (And I might add some music from Pantera’s Vulgar Display Of Power soon.)
2025: Three Days Grace Alienation, Deftones Private Music.

Jokes on you I've got shit from the 1800s. (The odd bit of classical music, I don't commonly listen to it but some of it is pretty nice)
