I hated a glitch in Rayman 3D where after defeating any purple Robo-Pirate the music defaulted to the Echoing Caves music, but apparently no one else encountered this :?: It caused me playing like a third of the game with the same music track.

After playing a bit of Rayman 3D so far. I've noticed the physics seem a bit glitchy compared to the original game. For example, landing right at the edge of some land or platforms while holding a direction on the analog results in him jogging on the spot kind of floating in mid-air off the edge and you have to jump and move in so he'll land on the ground and start walking.

Also noticed they made it much easier as when you fall your health bar depletes fully but it just puts you back at a green lum spot with it refilled, meaning likely if you get killed by enemies you don't have to restart the entire level and respawn with full health at a green lum spot. I could be wrong about that part though.

That's just in the areas with modified level geometry, which there's a lot of in the Woods of LIght. You'll notice they smoothed a lot of things out, but they applied that to the collision geometry as well for some reason, and Rayman's collision detection does not like high-poly surfaces, especially on the ground. I don't know why they didn't just keep the collision geometry the same as it was before and just updated the visual - they're stored separately.

Yeah the woods of light is actually where I noticed it. It doesn't really affect the gameplay in general anyway as you likely wouldn't land that close to the edges.

It's worth mentioning that if anyone has a CFW New 3DS or New 2DS, that Luma can overclock older games to utilise the better CPU. I literally played the game at 30fps with lots of dips last night for hours (literally about 20fps) then today I enabled Clock+L2 in luma which overclocks the game to use the better CPU. It now goes 60fps with only very slight stutter sometimes. It just went from N64 framerates to unbelievable :)

Yeah it's still playable but it runs a lot better with the higher cpu clock. You probably wouldn't notice unless you saw one going 60fps beside yours.

I notice the difference in framerates straight away especially from playing the 60fps games like Legends and Origins. Low FPS still isn't game breaking though like I'm gonna play the PAL version of Revolution which runs at 25fps max with drops below that and I don't even mind. Just that if you can make it run better on the Newer DS then why not right?

You don't really have to anyway if you're happy with the way it runs. It's only for people that have CFW installed (which I do because it's not like Nintendo really care anyway at this stage). They also have this stupid way of buying games from the eshop where you get a one off generic download and if you lose your DS you're screwed as they don't tie with your account. That's why people get away with using CFW because of how stupid that actually is. They have no way of knowing whether people have a valid licenced game or a freeshop download since it doesn't even tie to the account so there's literally no verification.

I think Nintendo should have enabled overclocking for older games (to the higher New DS clock) by default anyway as it doesn't do any harm just runs the game much better.

Also I have the cart version ordered as I was only trying out the freeshop one and it's actually a really good game for it so I immediately bought it :)

Edit: I really should've made a separate thread about this anyway but just had it in here as its about this game. I'm sure anyone with CFW already knows they can do this tbh if they got that far.

i REALLY don't understand why we are comparing to 2 rayman 2 re-releases 1 on the ds the other on the 3ds (probably to sabotage the 3ds's success).

I haven't seen the original DS version yet but the 3DS version is actually really good. It's done really well in my opinion. It's great being able to bring a game that good with you when you're out and about.

I remember I got turned off it a few years ago when I saw YouTube comments from people who had played only that version, thinking the 1000th yellow lum room was just a test room left in the game by mistake.

How can someone hate a Rayman game. I don't understand

Seriously I think it's great after playing a bit of it. It's actually a lot better looking than I expected for a 3DS game too.

About that 1000th lum I'll see when I get that far but it sounds kind of dumb to have that glitch as they should be testing these things before sending them out. They should have released an update to address that issue too of they didn't do that.

People that say them games suck are just bad at them. Maybe some people genuinely don't like 3 because it's so different? I personally think 3 is a brilliant game. The first one is fairly challenging to be fair and you have to have perfect timing, so them people are probably just terrible at it and they just call the game bad. The second one is my favourite one. Nobody can say they don't like Rayman 2, it's honestly the best one imo after playing them all. That probably explains why nobody says that one sucks

Rayman 2 was ahead of it's time.

Rayman 3 is one of my most favourite game of all time so i cant hate it
rayman 1 while hard is SO fun ( exept space mama)
Rayman 2 is just gold

Also There is a problem: Peaple just cant accept change, like in swequels or remakes, some ppl just say from 1 little different thing "it isnt the original" which is the worst kind of critisism
